Cowbys Vs Redskins

There are many great rivalries in the NFL and one of the most storied rivalries is the one between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins.  The rivalry began before Dallas was even a team when original Cowboys owner Clint Murchison bought the publishing rights to the Washington fight song 'Hail to the Redskins'.  Those rights are still owned by the Cowboys today which does not sit well with anyone in the Redskins organization or fan base.  From the beginning in 1960, Dallas and Washington have played two grudge matches a year that were, are and will be fought tooth and nail without regard to team strength, w-l record or any other factor.  More often than not over the years, the lesser talented team has won in the rival team's home stadium.  Such was the case last night on Monday Night Football.

It was a hotly contested but relatively low scoring game as the 'Boys and the 'Skins battled to a 17-17 tie at the end of regulation.  Washington was playing a back up QB and had a 2-5 record coming in, the Cowboys were 6-1 and on top of the league.  Dallas led at the half 7-3 but things turned dark in the 3rd quarter when Dallas QB Tony Romo was injured on a sack and left the game for the locker room.  Dallas back up QB Brandon Weeden led the Cowboys back to a tie score at 17 all before Romo Returned for the last series in regulation.  That series failed to lead to a score or even a first down, so we headed into overtime.  The Redskins won the coin toss, marched to a Field Goal then held Dallas on downs to win the game in overtime.

The loss does not do a lot of damage, the Cowboys still have as many wins as anyone in the NFL and remain atop the NFC East as the AZ Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday to drop them to 5-2, a full game back of Dallas.  The Cardinals who are 6-1 and lead the NFC West come to The Taj Ma Jones on Sunday, which should be another closely fought contest.  The Cardinals before they moved to AZ were in St Louis and  the NFC East before the expansion to 32 teams and the realignment of Divisions.  The Cardinals have always done much like the Redskins in that the record does not matter and all will be left on the field at the end of the battle.  We will see who wins.

Your Tuesday Musical Moment features 3 of the best Piano Sonatas penned by Ludwig von Beethoven, Number 8 in C Minor, Op.13 "Pathétique"; Number 14 in C-Sharp Minor, Op.27 No. 2 "Moonlight" and Number No.23 in F Minor, Op.57 "Appassionata".  Today's performance is wonderfully nuanced by the youthful Pianist, Yundi Li.  You may also hear Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 over on my tumblr with a performance by Itzhak Perlman as the Violin Soloist and Daniel Barenoboim conducting the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

For your visual appreciation, on display below the video is stunning selection of smoldering sensuality in this week's edition of Tuesday's Temptations.  You may also appreciate the 'Bondi Beach Boy' from down under who is your Hottie of the Day! over on my tumblr.  Thanks for the visit, see you again soon. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
