A Successful Beginning

Wooden Boat On A Lake
Could Be Anywhere

I have finished my work week and have the day off today. It is really two days as I do not return to work until midnight Monday. The forecast is for cloudy and around 70 degrees, so it should be a great day to do some exploring around the area. It will be a walking tour as there is no public transportation on Sunday, so I do not know how far I will go, I will just pick a direction and go after studying a map of the local attractions to see which direction would provide the most sights in a shorter distance and then Monday I will get on the bus and see where that will take me. Sounds like a plan to me. It is really incredible how much I feel at home here and how much peace I feel just being here. I know the wanderlust may strike a gain some day, but with the experience I am gaining here along with the help of my owner, I am sure I could transfer to another of our properties at some future time. But time enough for that later, I am here now and want to take advantage of all that is available to me both professionally and personally.

MM and I were busy again tonight, the hotel was basically sold out and the club was just a jamming. I learned a few more things about the computer system and Mr Taj took me in his office for a few minutes to make sure that all my needs were being met. He really has gone the extra mile to make me feel welcome and a valued part of the family team. I had a lot of interaction with the guests tonight also. We have a long term guest who is a disabled veteran whom I had the privilege of assisting and there was another guest who was here for a tattoo convention who needed a color print of an Angus Young SG guitar that he is going to get inked tomorrow. I have a color printer so I brought him over to my place after work and printed it for him so the artist could have something to work from. There were a lot of other interaction during my shift, things that go with guest services in a hotel as well as checking in the many guest who came to the desk. It is fascinating to converse with people from all over about their hometowns and why they travel to NLR etc. It give me the opportunity to interject my personality into the service equation to which the guests seem to respond positively. Happy guests means a happy boss and Mr Taj is apparently pleased with my work as he was speaking of a raise in the near future which is a good thing even though I am already making more than I was in Dallas. I would have to say that I have had a very successful beginning here and look forward to continuing this trend.

Once again it is late (or early as the case may be) and I am head to bed soon. But not before I leave you with some more selections from my archives. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
