Just Because He Breathes

I could not help but share this video, the journey to acceptance is often long and hard, and for some, it comes too late.

Rob & Linda Robertson told their incredible story on June 20, 2013, at the last ever annual Exodus conference. The day before, the prominent ex-gay organization issued a formal apology to those whom they have hurt over the course of the nearly 40 years that they were operating, and announced that the organization is shutting down. Alan Chambers, The President of Exodus International, upon reading Rob & Linda’s story, invited them to share it in person at the conference.

A hat tip to John Aravosis at Americablog for posting this where I could find it.

New Truth Wins Out Videos and A Thought or Two

Uncle Gerry wants you to watch two new videos from Wayne Besen's organization Truth Wins Out. The first video is and interview with Dr. Robert Spitzer and his reactions to the outrageous usage of his study by James Dobson, Focus on th Family, and Exodus International. It is interesting to see the author of the most quoted study in Ex-Gaydom state that because of the size of his study and the difficulty in finding subjects for it, he must conclude that change from homo to hetero is possible but extremely rare. The second video is of a married couple, now divorced, on how churches teaching you can pray away the gay are destroying families in the name of family values. Both are very interesting and for sure Focus on the Family does not want you to see them. So (deleted expletives) FOF, here is the truth, may it set you free!

As I watched these videos, all I could think was how many lives have organizations like FOF, Exodus, and any number of churches and/or faith based groups destroyed in the name of Family Values or "God" ( I put God in quotes for they obviously do not know the same God I do who created us all and loves us all and includes us all). The more widely we spread the truth, the more vulnerable people we can save from the clutches of the likes of these organizations. Why are these faith based groups afraid of the truth? Maybe because the truth while setting us free, hurts them for they know not the truth and truth knows them not.

On to more pleasant things .... The Daytona 500 is this weekend and I cannot wait for Ryan and Mike to return and tell me the pits eye view of the race and all those guys running around butching it up. I am sure they will have many interesting stories to tell. Patti from Patti-Cake Land and I have been ghost writing for them this week, but Patti is moving and out of internet connection until next Thursday so I will be doing double duty here and at Boys Are Ugly But So Cute for the next week or so as Ryan and Mike are house sitting for Ryan's Uncle after the 500 so they won't be back in Atlanta for a while yet. Big house, two young men in love all alone for a week, no, I don't think posting a blog will be the topmost thing on their mind. If you haven't been over to Boys Are Ugly or their companion blog The New Boys Club you should check them out. The writing at Boys Are Ugly is great (check out the archives) and the photography at The New Boys Club is outstanding. As long as we are talking outstanding photography, here are some photos I know you will like. So until next time as always, Enjoy!

Ex-Gay Watch Videos Concerning "Love Won Out"

The videos below show the Press Conference held Friday in response to the travesty to be perpetrated in Phoenix on Saturday. The "Love Won Out" was held but but not without protests from the gay community and full media coverage of the press conference on Friday. It is good to see clergy, parents and other friends of our family supporting us instead of the bigotry and lies espoused by Focus on the Family and Exodus International.

It is my hope that continued protests and educational efforts like the work of Daniel Gonzales at Ex-Gay Watch stymie the efforts of Exodus and Focus on the Family to foist their lies on vulnerable people. I just wish they believed in the same God I do. Funny how the Son of God never said anything about homosexuals but lots about Pharisees and Sadducees ( Exodus and Focus on the Family anyone?). Seems to me that the religious leaders are the ones with the beam in their eye trying to excise the mote that is not there in ours.

In personal news, I have solved my housing and internet access challenges as I am now ensconced in my new home and have the internet back up and running so that I can once again bring you the best that I have to offer. This relieves a lot of my stress and allows me to move forward with my financial recovery. The new job is going wonderfully and my company is supportive of me in the solving of my challenges. My post "The Library" listed as a Thursday post was actually finished yesterday and posted. I began it on Thursday but ran out of time and did not have a chance to finish it until I moved yesterday. I am grateful to my boss for understanding and being supportive in my period of instability due to the events portrayed in the post. His actions give me hope that one day all people will accept all other people and events like those in the library will not happen again.

I am sorry my postings got behind due to the discombobulation of my internet connection, however that should not be a problem from now on. As mentioned earlier this week, I am ghost writing over at Boys Are Ugly But So Cute along with Patti from Patti-Cake Land while Ryan And Mike are in Daytona for the 500. Be sure to stop by and check out their blog and our posts as well as their archives for some good reading. that about wraps it up for the day here except of course for the normal assortment of good looking guys to brighten your day. So until next time as always, Enjoy!

The Spitzer Study, Flaws And Political Abuse

I received this e-mail Sunday from Daniel Gonzales of ExGay Watch and felt it was very important to get this to you this morning before I went to work. Watch the video and spread the word that they are at it again. If you have friends in Phoenix, have them form or join a protest group for the start of Saturdays conference. These people have got to stop lying and confusing vulnerable people.

(This is Dan from ExGayWatch, I'm in Chicago at the moment, hence my yahoo account is the best I can do.)
Howdy all, as some of you may know, Love Won Out Phoenix is next weekend and of course the Spitzer study is going to be pointed at yet again even though we all know it's complete junk. Unfortunately very little exists on the internet for ordinary people who want to understand the study in terms they can understand. Ergo, I've made a new video and decided to unleash it the Monday (tomorrow) before Love Won Out (Saturday).

The Spitzer Study of Ex-Gay Therapy: Methodological Flaws
and Political Abuse

A study of gay conversion therapy released by Dr. Robert Spitzer in 2001 sent shockwaves through the American media despite serious methodological concerns. This video examines those concerns and goes on to examine how the study has been abused by anti-gay political organizations such as James Dobson’s Focus on the Family to promote anti-gay public policy.

Keywords: Ex-gay, exgay, reparative therapy, NARTH, Exodus International, American Family Association, PFOX, Wayne Besen, Joe Nicolosi, Alan Chambers, Randy Thomas, former homosexual, former homosexuals, former-homosexual, robert spitzer, afa, truth, a biblical perspective of homosexuality, biblical view of sexuality, truth about homosexuality, truth in love, love won out, americans for truth

Of course I would be remiss if I did not leave you with something pleasant to start your Monday off right. So until next time as always Enjoy!
