Friday The 13th

Happy Friday to one and all including all those who hold to the superstition of Triskaidekaphobia.  The term is defined by Wikipedia as Triskaidekaphobia (from Greek tris meaning "3", kai meaning "and", deka meaning "10" and phobos meaning "fear" or "morbid fear") is fear of the number 13 and avoidance to use it; it is a superstition and related to a specific fear of Friday the 13th, called paraskevidekatriaphobia (from Παρασκευή Paraskevi, Greek for Friday) or friggatriskaidekaphobia (after Frigg, the Norse goddess Friday is named after in English).  I am not a very superstitious person, however there have been some Friday the 13ths which have been less than stellar events in my lifetime.  However, I have seemed to have survived them all with minimal damage to either soul or psyche.  So it is my wish for you all to have a Fabulous Friday despite the fact that it is the 13th.

Your Friday Musical Moment features Chelys Suites for Viola de Gamba, Opus III by Carolus Hacquart.  Today's performance is by Guido Balestracci on Viola de Gamba, Nicolo Del Maso on Violin, Rafael Bonavita on Arch Lute and Massimilano Raschietti on Organ and Harpsichord.

Then for your visual appreciation and admiration, a collection of walking wet dreams in this week's edition of Naked or Nearly So.  Because I have been such a slug this week, I am about 1200 articles/pictures behind in my reader so I am going to take the weekend to catch them up.  This means, unfortunately, that there will be no review for you guys this weekend.  I will make it up by posting an expanded review for you next weekend.  Thanks for sharing a part of your Friday with me, see you again on Monday.  Until the next time as always, Enjoy!

A Snag In The Plan

I worked a lot of hours over the weekend despite all the mental, emotional and physical maladies from which I suffered.  Those maladies were  a direct result of a real snag in The Plan.  13 days before my first SSRB deposit was due to show up, a different salesman from the one with whom I have been working, sold my vehicle of choice.  I found out about it the morning of Friday the 13th.  This was almost enough to cause a bout of triskaidekaphobia, especially piled on top of all the stress I was experiencing trying to get the repairs done on my apartment.  After learning of the sale of my vehicle of choice, I was in no mood to call the office just so they could lie to me once again.  So I just called Code Compliance who was told that the work would be finished by Wednesday afternoon by my apartment manager.  Seeing as how I was calling on Friday morning, this of course pissed off the CC Officer who then contacted my apartments around 12:30.  At 12:45 I received a phone call from the apartments stating the painters would be there at 2:30.  I took a 'well I will believe it when I see it' attitude about it.  However, miraculously, the painters did finally show up, and the repairs on my apartment are finished for now.  I was still really bummed about the car because I was too emotionally invested in that particular car for my own good.  Add a ten hour shift on a really busy Friday night to the mix, the results of which were the manifestations I told you about in my last post.

So now I had to pick out a different vehicle to purchase on the 25th which is only 9 days away now.  There was a couple of other two door cars on the lot, however, I could not bring myself to look at any of them due to the mental malaise in which I found myself.  However, I returned to the dealership on Saturday morning and got to looking at another coupe that was also a 2008 model.  It turns out that the price on this one was the same as on the Focus, yet it had more luxury features and 10,000 few miles on it.  I don't want to invest so heavily emotionally into this car until it gets a little closer to my first SSRB deposit, yet it is a pretty nice car of which I could easily fall into love.  The car is a Pontiac G5 coup which is the Pontiac version of the Chevy Cobalt.  The G5 is a slate color which is a dark bluish gray.  In some light conditions it looks more blue than gray while at others it looks more gray than blue.  The G5 has power everything (locks, windows, side view mirrors, steering and brakes) as well as cruise control and a 4 speed automatic transmission.  Pontiac always made sporty, performance oriented, fun to drive cars and this car follows in that tradition.  So if the G5 is still available on the 25th, that is probably what I will purchase.  Here is a collage of some images I found on the internet of the G5:

We shall see what develops over the next 9 days as I semi-patiently await my first SSRB deposit.  Now for for Monday Musical Moment, I have something a little different for you from the Classic Music Club.  The play list contains familiar compositions, all played in a music box style that I found rather interesting.  The play list includes Music Box Dancer - Frank Mills / Für Elise - Ludwig van Beethoven / Lullaby - Johannes Brahms / Swan lake - Pyotr Tschaikovsky / Dream Of Love / Symphony No.9 Choral - Ludwig van Beethoven / The Swan - Camille Saint - Saëns / Home Sweet Home - Henry Bishop / Ave Maria - Johann Sebastian Bach / Serenade / The Beautiful Blue Danube - Johann Strauss Jr. / Maiden's Prayer / Beethoven Minuet in G / The Unfinished Symphony - Franz Schubert.  To close out the post, this week's collection of muscular men in their Monday's Undies will be sure to please as you scroll down the page while listening.  Thanks for sharing par tof your Monday with me, see you again tomorrow.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
