Saturday at the Symphony Evening Concert

Welcome to the weekend and your Saturday at the Symphony Evening Concert.  Our featured work tonight is the Symphony Number 2 in B Flat Major by Franz Schubert.  Schubert was an Austrian composer who despite dying at age thirty-one was extremely prolific.  His output consists of over six hundred secular vocal works, seven complete symphonies, sacred music, operas, incidental music and a large body of chamber and piano music.  Appreciation of his music while he was alive was limited to a relatively small circle of admirers in Vienna, but interest in his work increased significantly in the decades following his death. Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms and other 19th-century composers discovered and championed his works. Today, Schubert is ranked among the greatest composers of the late Classical era and early Romantic era, and as such, is one of the most frequently performed composers of the early nineteenth century.  Today 's performance has Maestro Lorin Maazel conducting the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra of Munich of which he was principle conductor from 1993-2002.  Maestro Maazel and the BRSO can also be heard over on my tumblr performing Schubert's Symphony Number 5 which is also in B Flat Major.

While being aurally pleasured by Schubert's Symphonic Styling, a slow cruise and peruse down the page will be greatly rewarding.  This week's Art collection of slim and sensuous seductors, all of whom are Naked or Nearly So, are on display below the video for your visual appreciation.  Additional Naked Sensuality can be observed in the Hottie of the Day! over on my tumblr.  Have a terrific rest of the weekend and we will catch up with you on Monday for another week of Music, Men & More!  Until next time as always, Enjoy!

Saturday at the Symphony

Welcome to the weekend and your Saturday at the Symphony.  As you can tell by the time stamp, I am slightly later than normal getting this post up.  However it is still technically Saturday, so it's all good.  Like I said earlier in the week, I am trying not to put deadline like pressure on myself right now, so my posting times have varied a bit.  I am still somewhat fragile mentally and emotionally, so I am trying to make it as easy on me as I can without just curling up in a ball and ignoring the world.  With that said, I still have some great music and gorgeous guys for your edification today.

Today's featured composer is Johannes Brahms and his Symphony Number 4 in E Minor.  Today's performance is by the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio under the baton of Lorin Maazel in a recording of a live 1995 performance.  You may also hear Brahms' Symphony Number 3 in F Major, Opus 90 with a performance by Leonard Bernstein and the Vienna Philharmonic over on my tumblr.

Then as always on the weekend we have our latest selections of art in the male form au natural in this week's edition of Naked or Nearly So.  Today's selections include a lot of 'art type' poses as well as many other types of poses and portraits.  Additional au natural numminess can be found in the Hottie of the Day! over on my tumblr.  Thanks for sharing a part of your weekend with me.  We will gather once again on Monday for another week of Music, Men & More!  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
