Life in the Fast Lane, Again!

My life has continued in its breakneck pace as I try to take care of everyday things and get ready for my trip.  Hence the lateness of this post that really should have been up yesterday, but... life intervened, lol!  Anyway I have been spread thin and I have tried to cover all the bases before I am scheduled to leave.  Will is staying home and because he is less than adequate, shall we say, when it comes to cooking, I have had to come up with menu items that he can reheat in the oven or microwave.  So I have selected a few of his favorites like my taco mix and orange chicken to double cook on this week.  I have also provided some hot pockets, pizza and a couple of cafe steamer things as well as extra cereal, peanut butter and hot dogs.  I think he will not starve to death while I am gone so I am pretty much set for the trip except for the packing.

I was able to catch up on most everything else over the weekend which frees me up to concentrate on work and resting up for the drive to Virginia.  Now if I can just get the world to not depend on me so much this week, maybe I can get outta here on time and escape to the beach where they can't find me.  I am looking forward to a week of RNR as well as catching up with some old friends back on the east coast.  It is the first real vacation I have taken in years ('stay-cations' don't count) and I think it is about time I took one.  My mind set right now reminds me of a movie title from way too many years ago "Stop the World! I Want to Get Off!!" and I mean that figuratively of course.  However a week without real responsibilities other  than eat, sleep and have a good time will do me wonders I bet.  Then I can come back refreshed and ready to deal with my real world once again.  Let's hope it works 😉!!

Sooner or Later

Slowly but surely things are beginning to return to a more normal routine, although I have yet to catch up on all that I am behind.  However, sooner or later I will, all in good time.  Today is my long day at work and I have some errands and chores to accomplish this morning.  If one thing is the same as always, it is the fact there is no rest for the wicked.  Weekends are not my time to rest anyway, but still it seems that I am busier than ever and accomplishing less.  Maybe it is just because there is so much to do that it seems progress is slow.  At any rate, I will plod on and eventually get some equilibrium back in my schedule.  

In the meantime, I still have my privilege and pleasure to entertain you all on a daily basis with great classical music and gobs of gorgeous guys.  I asked my buddy J who I should post on the blog today and he wanted to hear some Beethoven.  Therefore your Friday Musical Moment indeed features the Music of dear old Ludwig.  In 1819, the music publisher Anton Diabelli decided to raise money for the family members of soldiers killed in recent wars. He wrote a theme in hopes of inducing some of the leading composers of the day to contribute variations, planning to publish the entire set . In all, he sent his melody to 51 composers in Austria, one of whom was Beethoven (another was Schubert). Beethoven's initial inclination was to turn down the project, though eventually he submitted a variation. But the composer soon became intrigued at the prospect of writing a larger set of variations on Diabelli's theme. In the end, he turned out a nearly hour-long work with more variations than any other of his works in the form.  Today's performance of these 33 Variations on a Waltz by Anton Diabelli penned by Beethoven is by Piotr Anderszewski recorded live for broadcast on German Radio and Television.  You may also hear Beethoven's 7 Variations on 'God Save the King' over on my tumblr.

Life In The Fast Lane

"Waterscape Beauty"

The breakneck pace at which my life moves continued unabated last evening after I finished my Muesday stretch run at 10. I ran down to Church's for some chicken and then proceeded to the house when my phone rang. It was my friend from a couple doors down who had a desire to party a little. As I had 24 hours before I had to work again, I was up for a little relaxation. When I did arrive home Will was waiting to talk to me so we got that hookup going. Then my friend from down the way arrived and the party got started for real. Our three way fun fest had us rolling in the aisles for quite a while . The content of our conversations covered a wide range of topics and sources of humor, many of which would make the sailors among you blush and cover your ears. Needless to say, a great time was had by all until about 4 this morning. At this time I crawled into bed and passed out for about 3 hours before arising and going to the store to complete my part of the month end paperwork. As I write this, I am awaiting the arrival of A to take me to pick up my car (Whoo! Hoo! Wheels at last!) at 11. Then there is an optional class from one to 4 over in Richardson (about an hour away) which I may or may not make. From there a couple of things could happen. I could decide I am too tired to do anything and just crash. Or I could decide to tough it out , go to the class, then get to gether with A and Vigi to go pick up my new sofa which has arrived at the store and is ready for pick up. I do have to work tonight so the too tired and crash is looking pretty good. I can pick up the sofa tomorrow on my day off. So you see, Uncle has been a very busy boy and the pace is showning no signs of abatement. One thing for sure is I do not have time to be bored with anything, there is so much coming down the pike towards me it is a full time job just managing the schedule I keep. Will is always telling me he cannot keep up with when I work and when I don't, a great source of annoyance (>_>) for him. Of course sometimes it is hard for me to keep up with also. None the less I remain dedicated to the proposition that this is all worth it somehow. One great source of satisfaction is the sharing of my little adventures with you all here. And there are more of you out there each day.

One of the emails I received when I got up this morning was from the webmaster at Twinkblog asking for a link exchange with Nichevo to which I have complied, adding his link to the reads and links in the sidebar. I also took the time to check out his blog which is a mix of eye candy and video focusing on (what else) twinkiedom. He has some excellent photography and the videos are pretty hot so stop by Twinkblog and tell them Uncle Gerry sent ya!

You may have notice the absence of the music player from the sidebar. I have not lost my love for classical music, but Fine Tune seems to be experiencing some difficulties right now and i have not had time to ramp up a new source for the player or discovery what happens to be the problem at Fine Tune. As soon as I solve this little dilemma, the music shall make its reappearance for our listening pleasure. Speaking of pleasure, I did manage to put together some hunks willing to put their wares on display in denim for you guys with this little collection of Men In Jeans.
