Saturday Evening Concert

Welcome to the Weekend and your Saturday Evening Concert.  I have two very different Concerts to share with you tonight as we wrap up Ensemble Week.  We will begin with our tumblr concert where Jordi Savall is joined by his son Ferran and members of the Ensemble Hesperion XXI for a French HDTV special ‘Lachrimae Caravaggio’, Music from the time of Caravaggio.  It is an fascinating exploration of Medieval Music beautifully performed in this live HDTV presentation.

Earlier in the week when I offered the definition of Ensemble, one of the alternate definitions included vocal music groups.  So what do you get when you take a pop singer from America, add 3 classically trained singers from Europe, then mix in a pop repertoire sung with operatic techneique?  You get 4 devastatingly handsome, golden voiced gentlemen known collectively as Il Divo Il Divo is listed in the Guinness Book of Records (2006) as the most successful international pop project ever.  There is not a 'boy band' in the world that can hold a candle to these guys on stage.  David, Carlos, Sabastien and Urs are mesmerizing on stage and their concerts engulf and sweep you into the heights of musical nirvana before gently setting you back down on earth.  Tonight's Concert was recorded in Barcelona in 2009 before a packed arena of enthusiastic fans.  As I listened this morning to preview the concert,  it was impossible to not become intimately involved with Il Divo as they share their lives and music with you.  Sit back, get ready to be truly and thoroughly entertained for the next two hours.

If by chance you can tear yourselves away from the concert, you may enjoy the regular dick fest that is on display in this week's edition of Naked or Nearly So posted down below.  Then your Hottie of the Day!, 'Vicente Caliente', over on my tumblr will definitely add some 'espicio especial' to any fantasy dish you wish to conjure up.  Thanks for sharing part of your weekend with me, join me again on Monday for another week of Music,  Men & More!  Until next time as always, Enjoy!

Eight Days and Counting

Silver Maple Leaves
Falling Into The Delaware
River At Dawn

Ah Monday, eight days before McPain/Bimbette are put out of their misery and go back to the rocks they crawled out from under. Then we can start really preparing for the end of eight years of lies, loopholes and assholes perpetrated upon the American People by the idiot in the White House. I have already cast my ballot for Obama, have you? Early voting is going on and a week from tomorrow is the formal election day. Do not forget to cast your vote making your voice heard in this most important of elections. You can see the collection of current political cartoons that are pretty spot on collected by Bob Geieger's Blog. Right below are a couple of videos that might help with your decision if you have not made it yet:

The Vet Who Did Not Vet

Daily Kos Response to RNC "Storm" Ad

Then moving out of the political into the travel adventure we have part four of Scenic Boys Great American West Expedition and a music video they made about their tour:

ScenicBoys: WILD WEST ADVENTURE! from scenicboys on Vimeo.

Over the weekend TWISI posted the following video in his Inspiration section. It is probably the most dynamic version of this song I have ever heard. It does not hurt that it is being sung by the drop dead gorgeous quartet Il Divo:

That makes Monday a wrap except for the Model Men coming right up. Until next time as always, Enjoy!

Sunday Morning Quiet Time

I just love Sunday Mornings. The really obnoxious party hardy folks from the night before are sleeping it off, non party folks are sleeping late and there is quiet to be found all around. It is a time when you can have your coffee, read the paper and laze around the house without feeling guilty because you have so many things to do like on most days. Here of late I have been using Sunday mornings to catch up on things I did not get done during the week, but today I am just going to take it easy. Later on I will watch the AFC/NFC championship games though with out the Cowboys in the mix, I have less enthusiasm for them than I would if the Cowboys were playing. I would like the Packers to beat the Giants as the Giants beat the Cowboys. I want San Diego to beat New England just to spoil the perfect season, but I do not see that happening. It will probably be the Packers and the Patriots in the Super Bowl, with the Patriots winning it all. This will result in Tom Brady being crowned King of the World and the Patriots will finally replace the Miami Dolphins as the team with the record to beat.

After that I will just relax until it is time for me to go to work at 10 PM and start my week all over again. But for right now it is quiet and I am going to enjoy the day, surf the net, maybe chat with a couple of blog buddies, for sure I will pig out during the games with some serious junk food. Just a time to recharge before a busy week. Part of relaxing for me is listening to good music. You guys know I am a classical music fanatic, but I do venture off into other genre's here and there. I saw the following video yesterday and thought it would fit in with this morning. It was recorded at the September 25th Elton John AIDS benefit "An Enduring Vision", herewith is K D Lang and "Hallelujah":

As Long as we are talking music, here are 3 of my favorite videos. The first is Il Divo with "La Vida Sin Amor" from their CD Siempre, then Australia's little Gay hunk Anthony Callea with his rendition of "the Prayer" followed by Josh Groban with his amazing video "per Te":

I hope this has helped you enjoy your Sunday morning quiet time, it sure has made mine more enjoyable. So to add to an already fabulous day, here are some of the best photos I found this week for your viewing pleasure. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
