With the Cowboys not playing the Redskins until tonight's Monday Night Football match up and since I was recuperating from Friday's Mysterious Malady, I thought I would pursue some other interests of a non strenuous but enjoyable nature. I did some reading of course, but I thought I would check out some of fall TV's new shows also. I have been hearing some good buzz about the new Fox series Gotham dramatising the early years of the Batman tale beginning with the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne in front of their son Bruce. The story line is told mostly from the point of view of Jim Gordon, ex military rookie detective on the GCPD. Gordon is played by that cutie from the OC, Dallas area native Benjamin McKenzie who is fantastic in the role. The guy that plays Oswald Cobblepot (nee' The Penguin) is wonderful as the brilliant but slimily evil budding bad guy. So I went on a little Gotham marathon and have now caught up on all 5 of the aired episode in anticipation of tonight's episode 6. I will watch it over on Hulu later as I will be watching the Cowboy's hopefully beat up on the Redskins on MNF tonight.
Another show with good buzz is the new CW spinoff from their Arrow series, The Flash. The lead character Barry Allen is played by Grant Gustin who played the lustily conniving Sebastian on Glee. I have watched the pilot and have two further episodes to watch to be up to this week's episode to be broadcast on Tuesday night. So far the the show looks good with solid acting and great FX that really make the story come alive.
Then I have the new CBS show Madame Secretary starring Tea Leoni which I really like so I have last night's episode to catch up on and also last night's latest Masterpiece Theater Season 2 episode of The Paradise set in late Victorian/early Edwardian England. Also on tonight is NCIS LA one of my returning favorites. Preceding NCIS LA tonight, Linda Hunt who plays legendary intelligence operative and current head of the LA office of NCIS, Henrietta 'Hetty' Lange, guest stars on another new series Scorpion. This means I will have to catch up on all their episodes so that tonight's guest appearance by Hetty will make sense in the context of the Scorpion storyline.
Coming up later in the week is the returning NCIS on Tuesday followed by the new spin off NCIS New Orleans starring Scott Bakula as the Special Agent in Charge which is as good as the the rest of the NCIS family. On Thursday is the much anticipated return of Elementary, a modern day retelling of the Sherlock Holmes story set in New York with Jonny Lee Miller in the lead, Lucy Liu who plays the brilliant yet conflicted female Dr Watson and Aidan Quinn as the NYPD Captain with whom Holmes and Watson consult. Other than that, I am still waiting for the season premiere of Glee, but that will be about all the video I will be able to take in on a regular basis. What about you guys, what are you watching on TV this fall?.
Your Monday With Mozart features his String Quartet Number 16 in E Flat Major, KV 428. This piece was composed in Vienna in June or July 1783. It was originally published in 1785 as Op. 10 No. 4 with a dedication to Joseph Haydn. Today's performance is by the Quatuor Mosaiques, an Austrian ensemble playing on historical musical instruments. They specialize in music of the 18th century especially Haydn and of course Mozart. You may also join Quartuor Mosaiques over on my tumblr for their performance of Mozart's String Quartet Number 18 in A Major, KV 464 which was also originally published in 1785 as Opus 10, Number 5.
Then to brighten everyone's Monday and Mine, The bounty of beautiful boys adorned in their most special skivvies for this week's edition of Monday's Undies will found romping about the page below the video. While over on my tumblr, Br'er Rabbit makes an appearance as your Hottie of the Day!. Thanks for the visit, see you again on the morrow. Until Next time as always, Enjoy!
