Yesterday was rather long in the tooth, yet ultimately satisfying. Everyone who had volunteered to help us move actually showed up and the actual move was accomplished by 11 AM. I had the whole thing organized to the max with all the boxes labeled as to where they were to end up. I also had a plan for how I wanted to maximize the space in the truck which in the end left us some empty space in the back end. I was prepared to reward my friends for helping with a picnic style meal of cold fried chicken and my home made potato salad. I was really very pleased that we had accomplished the whole thing as smoothly and quickly as we did. All that was left then was to unpack and get settled in. I also had to work last night from 5-11, however I had almost everything put up and assembled except for the sofa pieces before I left for work.
The sore muscles started kicking in about that time and I struggled a little to move around, but I made it all the way to end without collapsing. All is good that ends well, so they say. After returning home I continued the settling in process and got the sofa put back together and the pictures hung before finally hitting the bed for some rest. I have a virtual tour of the new place posted below this paragraph so you can see the new home of Nichevo for yourselves.
I have a doctor's appointment at the VA at 1245 today for my initial screening and exam. I also have to renew my prescriptions to change them over from the JPS pharmacy to the VA pharmacy. Then as per usual, I work tonight from 5 PM to 2 AM. So there really is no rest for the wicked, therefore I shall continue to be as wicked as I can and worry about catching up on my rest when I can.
Your Musical Moment for Friday features the Music of Beethoven with a live recording of a BBC Proms performance of his Piano Concerto Number 4 in G Major by Soloist Mitsuko Uchida with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mariss Jansons.
