The last 24 hours has certainly had its share of interesting developments. As I related in yesterday's post, it was a day chock full of activities with which to begin in the first place. I finished quicker than expected at both the VA and Charter, so then I had a little extra time to visit with my Mother before continuing with my hectic pace of activity. After dropping off my return package to Ting at FEDEX, I headed on over to my appointment with the manager at my apartments. This is where my day began to get very interesting indeed.
My appointment turned out not to be with the apartment manager, rather it was with the Regional Manager of the Rental Management Company that operates my complex. She told me she had reviewed everything that had happened over the course of the last nine and a half months and had some options for me to consider. She could patch and paint to get us through to the end of our lease on May 31 or she could release us from our lease without penalty at the end of this month for which we had already paid the rent, each going our separate ways without rancor. I told her I would have to speak with my prospective complex before I could give a definitive answer as to which option I would choose. She said to email her with my answer and she would make arrangements to comply with my choice, noting that the standard thirty day notice of intent to vacate would not be applicable under the circumstances.
Our prospective complex has a wonderful interactive website which shows all available units at any given point in time. Of the 7 units available in the floor plan Will and I liked which are available between now and the first of June, only one unit was downstairs. Fortunately, that unit is ready for occupancy starting today. I then placed a call to them to find the answers to a couple of questions and what I would need to pull together to secure the unit for move in on the first of April. Because of the acceleration of the moving timetable, funding for the applicable deposit and fees was not within my grasp, necessitating a trip to see my boss to secure a short term payroll advance to cover these expenses. My employer complied with my request, so I will be heading over there today to turn in the necessary paperwork, pay the fees and deposit and see the actual unit into which we would be moving. The complex itself is fully gated with on site security, a 24 hour fitness facility, attractive landscaping, a long list of amenities and is well maintained. It is located in a good, mostly residential neighborhood with a lot of retail, restaurant and service businesses close at hand. It is also only one block away from a branch of my bank with easy access to both I 20 and I 35W for an easy commute to work. In actual distance, it is only one mile further away from work than where I am now, albeit south of rather than west of my store location. The unit itself has washer/dryer connections so I can foresee that purchase in the near future in order to free me from constant trips to the laundramat.
I do not expect there to be a problem getting approval of our application, so the next couple of weeks should be full of packing and preparation for the move in on April 1. I will of course have to have my electric and Internet services transferred and ready to go on upon move in. By the time the move is complete, I will be more than ready to begin a more tranquil period with far less action necessary on my part. I just hope everything goes down with a minimum of hassle and headache with which to bedevil me in the process. Needless to say, with my efforts to pull all this together on short notice, I got very little rest yesterday. Therefore, after I get this post up, I will be heading off to nap land for a little while before heading out to get the ball rolling.
Your Midweek Musical Moment features Piano Concerto Number 4 in G Major, opus 58 by Ludwig von Beethoven. Your performance today is by the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana under the baton of Andre Cluytens featuring Friedrich Gulda as the Piano Soloist from a live 1965 recording at the Teatro Kursaal in Lugano, Switzerland. You may hear the Impromptus for Piano, Opus 90 by Franz Schubert over on my tumblr where you will also find your Hottie of the Day!. Below today's video you will find hunks and hotties galore splashing about in this week's edition of Wet Wednesday. Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me, see you again soon. Now it is off to nap land for me. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
