Friends, Allies, Music and Men!

Here we are smack dab in the middle of Ally Week already half way to Spirit Day on Friday.  One way to show your support for Spirit Day is to add a Twibbon to your facebook and Twitter profile pics.  What Twibbon does is put a Purple overlay on your profile pic to show your support for Spirit Day.  I have already done mine on facebook, Twitter, Blogger and Skype.  I hope you will consider doing so also.

I have written before in these pages about Brenden Burke, the openly Gay Manager of the Miami University (Ohio) Redhawks Hockey team.  Brenden and his brother Patrick are the sons of Brian Burke, GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs.  When Brenden was tragically killed in an car accident some time ago, Patrick and Brian looked for a way to honor Brenden's legacy and have become great Allies to the LGBT community.  The You Can Play project launched about 6 months ago by Patrick to honor Brenden, comprises videos by sports teams and athletes to show inclusion and support for LGBT athletes saying basically "If You Can Play, You Can Play".  Brenden's Alma Mater, Miami University (Ohio) Redhawks have now released their "You Can Play" video featuring their Coach, Enrico Blasi and members of the current team. "Given that many of the current players on the team never met Brendan, it also reflects the passion with which the team has embraced Brendan’s legacy".  That passion certainly shows in their video's production.  Watch it and see for yourself:

I know you guys remember my support of the Friend Film Project by my friend Elliot London who is the film's Director.  He and Executive Producer Ronnie Kroell are asking you to be a Friend of the Friend Film Project in this short video message.  You can be a Friend and Ally to the Friend Film Project by clicking here.  Now here is their message to you:

Now as it is Ally Week's Hump Day, we need to add a little some some to the mix to help you over the hump and headed down hill to Spirit Day and the weekend.  The video I have for you today should fill the bill right nicely.  The performance is a Classic 1954 Deutsche Grammophon recording of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the late, great conductor, Eugen Jochum, as they provide you with their interpretation of Symphony Number 3, "Eroica", Opus 55 by Ludwig von Beethoven:

Then not failing in my privileged duty to provide you with a daily eye full of eye candy, I have gathered some rather sizzling examples of Random Hotness to romp about the page below.  That's it for today, be sure to join me tomorrow for more Friends, Allies, Music and Men.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
