Time Flies When Your Having Fun

Boy, this week has certainly flown by, seems like just yesterday it was Monday.  Never the less, it has been a week of great music by composers whose last name starts with the letter 'S'.  Today is no exception as I have put together two excellent performances in this play list of two works by Finnish composer, Jean Sibelius. First up is my favorite by Sibelius, in Benjamin Beilman's moving and competition winning performance of his Violin Concerto in D Minor, Opus 47, during the final round of the "Montreal International Musical Competition". The second piece is his most popularly recorded work, Symphony Number 2 in D Major, Opus 43 in a wonderful 2010 performance by the Weiner Philharmoniker (Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra) conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria.  Then, as is the norm on Fridays here at Nichevo, I have some sizzling and sexy photographs of lithesome lads who are Naked or Nearly So to put you in a proper weekend state of mind.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow as we conclude this week of great music with a terrific play list of works by Dimitri Shostakovich and of course the photographic review of the Best of the Web This Week.  Thanks for the visit, see you again tomorrow.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
