Comfort and Inspiration

When all else fails to inspire or comfort me, I always fall back to the cello.  Today I am in the need for comfort and mellow tonality.  Therefore I turned to one of my favorite artists, Yo Yo Ma, for his expertise and musicianship to quiet the storms raging within.  The play list contains 4 distinct pieces from different periods.  I start with Paganini's Caprice 24, originally written for the violin and transposed here for the cello.  Secondly, I have chosen Tchaikovsky's Andante Cantabile followed by Dvorak's  Cello Concerto.  To complete the set I have selected Haydn's Cello Concerto in C.   Artists featured in addition to Yo Yo Ma include Emmanuel Ax on Piano, Isaak Stern on Violin as well as the Boston Pops and New York Philharmonic Orchestras.  To get all of you and myself over the midweek mountain I have some delectable Hump Day Hunks following the videos to breathe some fire into us and provide some impetus to propel us towards the weekend.  I hope this helps you as much as it does me.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
