Yes WE Can!

Morning Mists In Hawaii

"A government of the people, by the people, for the people has not perished from this earth" President-elect Obama said before he called on us a people to "remake America the only way it has ever been done...brick by brick, block by block, calloused hand by calloused hand". An historic victory has been won, but now the work begins. I watched Senator McCain's concession speech, which was gracious (his supporters not so much) and eloquent, pledging his support of the newly elected President. President-elect Obama's speech was friggin amazing. Like many in America last night I was moved to tears and filled with hope for the new day dawning in America. Listen for yourself and be inspired:

Barack Obama Victory Speech

Update: Scenes From The Election

Now that the politicking is over for this cycle, we must rededicate ourselves to the task at hand. Anti Gay measures passed in several states meaning we have much more work to do to bring equality for all our people, whatever label we have attached to ourselves or had thrust upon us. We have a atronger majority on the federal level which should allow us to finally get all inclusive hate crimes, employment discrimination laws and even possibly a start on the road to federal recognition of the right of all people to marry the one they love passed into the law of the land. Do not think for a moment our opponents will roll over and play dead, they will come back fighting like a wounded bear protecting her cubs and we must be prepared to counter any and all attacks on our freedoms. In our moment of basking in the hard fought victory just won, let us pledge ourselves to continue the fight until the ultimate goal of a more perfect union has been won for all of our peoples for all of our times.

Okay, the soap box has been put away, and you can now cruise on down the page for inspiration for your fantasies from this weeks collection of Hump Day Hunks sure to invigorate your libido and mine. Until next time as always, enjoy!
