The Plot Thickens

Well I am still waiting for the fireworks to begin. Nothing has been said directly to me but I do seem to be the subject of much conversation among the staff. Apparently there will be an effort to retain my services by the upper echelon of the corporation upon their arrival here in NLR. At this point it would be a futile effort on their part as the prospect of taking their word at face value when they have proved themselves willing to be duplicitous rather than straightforward in their dealings in this matter so far is not palatable to me. The arrival of the upper echalon will be late this evening or in the morning so the inevitable meeting will probably take place then. I do not relish attendance. I would just like to quietly exit and get on with my life. I must say in all honesty I have been happy here, happier than in a long time. That does not preclude my disappointment in the way this has been handled so far. I was truly looking for a reason to stay as I had become comfortable here and was becoming fairly well established. What I got was a very good reason to go. Once the trust factor was broken by the phone call to Dallas to circumvent the offer to me, any credibility in negotiations on their part was lost. I am trying to maintain the high road here in which I have been successful so far. The stress of it all is about to drive me nuts, I know it is not a long trip but I am not ready to leave on that train yet. It is, however, waiting at the station for me to board. Let's hope I lose the ticket for the journey.
