Over The River and Through The Woods...

Mist in the Valley

...Not! Although I have much to be thankful for this holiday season, I will not be spending Thanksgiving in the bosom of my family. I have not heard from any of them since last Christmas so I am not really expecting anything different from them this year. I am working this morning so that I may take off in the afternoon for the Cowboy game. Gal Pal is coming over with dinner later and I am sure I will spend some Skype time with Will (at least I hope so). The cable guy came on time yesterday arriving at 11:30 in a 10-12 window with two notification phone calls to keep me aware of his progress. His name was Spencer and he was very Hot! and very friendly. He had to work pretty hard though. The complex where I live is in the middle of a complete remodel and some idiot had pulled all the cable wires off the connections along with their labels and cut the wire from the pole. Spencer climbed the pole (don't go there), rerunning the cable from the pole to the building and then used a squawker to backtrack the cable from my apartment back outside so he would know which one to hook up. All told it took about an hour and a half to give me the resulting superb picture and more channels than I have time to watch. I got a premium package so I could get LOGO and it came with about a dozen movie channels from both coasts plus Video On Demand. I could probably launch the space shuttle with my remote which is really scary until you figure it out. Anyway, the maintenance man came to fix something right as Spence was leaving kinda ruining the moment as it were. However if something goes wrong with the cable, Spencer is the one who comes to fix it as I am now his account. Hot Damn! I may have to break the cable after tomorrow's game just so he will have to come back out!

I also took my state certification test today scoring 100% on the "challenge" to pass the course. I was faster than the course which Texas requires to take four hours. I could have done it in two if the computer did not have the time lock on the process. No biggie, I now have two years before I have to renew my certificate. Things are becoming clearer at the store, in that by the end of two weeks we should have all our evaluations done. At that time then A, G and I can begin replacing those not performing to the standard to which we hold ourselves. I look forward to the process, first impressions can be wrong and I like to challenge crew persons to change my opinion by actions not words. Of course they will have to keep up with me, I like to lead from in front rather than push from behind. This should be fun and excruciating at the same time. I have to resist the temptation to just do it myself when faced with a particularly unmotivated individual. I am paid however not to do the work but to make sure it gets done. But first you must demonstrate the correct and or approved method of doing things. Uncle Gerry does not expect anyone to do anything he would not or has not done at some point in time. Building a team in concert with friends who are on the same page certainly has its advantages.

At any rate, it is getting late, I am tired and I have finally wound down from a very busy day (this post was written last night and scheduled to publish this morning, I love this feature!). I was gonna post a video but I did not want to rag on anybody on a holiday so I will just set the table and present to you your Thanksgiving feast for the eyes with not a turkey among them. Have a wonderful holiday, we will check back in tomorrow with more adventures on the journey that is Nichevo. Until next time as always, Enjoy!

Oh, and I almost forgot, here comes Santa Claus, is your stocking ready to be stuffed?
