Shanghai, China
Yes I know it is late on Monday and you guys have been waiting with baited breath for me to post again so you can get your man fix on. Well I burned the candle at both ends andt he middle since I last posted. I got up on Sunday morning at 7 AM and the day charged on through until about noontime today when I crashed for about 6 hours with out medication or waking. This for me is unusual because without meds I usually only sleep a couple of hours at a time. I must have been tired (I KNOW I was, still am?) because I slept through three phone calls from that sorry mf with the rocketmail address wanting my money and not me, I am glad I missed the calls and I deleted them rather than respond. At any rate let me tell you about the marvelous day I had on Sunday. After arising at 7 I did a little surfing and caught up on my email before getting ready for services at Open Door. Usually David and Brock pick me up on their way in from Maumelle (20 minutes west of NLR), however Brock's dad died this week and the funeral was Saturday. I really did not want to trouble them as I did not know how up to things Brock would be. I had John Henry and Bob Rogers pick me up and off we went. I took along my new toy so I could get some photos of the church to post and was I ever glad I brought it along. As it turns out, we had a special service planned with one of our long time members who was in attendance. Shawn Thomas is a contemporary praise and worship recording artist with this beautiful high, clear voice that captivates you at once along with the sweetness of his personality. Shawn was here for the debut concert for his new CD coming out on October 1. It was a rousing , inspiring, beautifully performed show with our Creator in attendance all around. Now I know a lot of you guys are probably not too much into religion, neither am I but I have found a spiritual home at Open Door where for the first time in such a long time, I feel I belong and am loved for me as I am. After the concert, we had our monthly Care Team meetings and I was able to spend some time talking with Shawn and the rest of the gang present while we pigged out on barbecue and all the trimmings with strawberry short cake for dessert. I have made some collages of the best photos I took yesterday and there are some full size photos that would not display all of their imagery in the collages, so I posted them as individual photos. My new toy is so easy to use and evidently I have a hidden talent for photo composition as everyone wanted this or that photo emailed to them. I spent several hours uploading the photos to my computer, then resizing them with PhotoShop7 so they could attach to emails. My camera generates a 2500 by 3200 digital image that most email programs cannot handle so I resize them to 1280 by 1024 for mailing. I also found when I returned to the hotel around four my GM had a couple of revisions for me to make before he took the new front desk computer south to Shreveport. Between that and photo processing I did not actually make it to bed before I had to go to work at midnight. When I got off this morning I started in on compiling this post before running over to the Laman Library to see Richard who is the media director there and a member with his partner James of the Care Team I am on. Richard and James are avid photographers who gave me several tips on the use of my camera as well as teaching me how to make movies with it. I have yet to edit the video clips together so you will not see them today. I did take some more pictures at the Laman library, but you will see those in a later post. After returning home I resumed work on the blog until I could not keep my eyes open any more and crashed around noon. That brings us to now and the photo journal of a truly happy and inspirational day followed by Video Nichevo for today with Nuke and Holly Oaks inside. Video Nichevo is followed by today's hottie hunks in the eye candy section. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
