Saturday at the Symphony

I crashed shortly after getting off of work at 3 and slept in a little again this morning.  Friday nights really take it out of me.  The first 8 hours are not bad, however the deliveries come at 1 in the morning and the last two hours of my shift are full of intense activity.  I generally come home worn out and keyed up, so it takes a little time to unwind.  I generally try to post after I get home, but today I crashed instead.  However I did dig up an interesting composition for your Saturday at the Symphony before I crashed out.

When I got up around 11, I then took a little time to select some appropriate Art works to share with you all today.  So let's start with your Saturday at the Symphony.  When you think of Symphonies, several names come to mind immediately, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms and Haydn most readily.  One composer who wrote several Symphonies but is not brought handily to mind is Franz Liszt.  The selection for today is his 'Faust Symphony' featuring a performance by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus under the baton of Sir Georg Solti.  You may also hear Liszt's 'Dante Symphony' over on my tumblr.
