Russian "Reasoning"

Three months before the Duma passed the legislation banning "Gay Propaganda", the bill's principle sponsor, Yelena Mizulina went on Russia's version of  The Charlie Rose Show to explain the necessity for the new law.  Sounding very much like Propaganda Minister Goebbels explaining Hitler's vilification of the Jews, Mizulina said “Analyzing all the circumstances, and the particularity of territorial Russia and her survival…I came to the conclusion that if today we want to resolve the demographic crisis, we need to, excuse me, tighten the belt on certain moral values and information, so that giving birth and raising children become fully valued,”.  As head of the Duma's committee on family, women and children, Mizulina has become the defacto Propaganda Minister and face of the virulently homophobic Russian campaign against the Gays stating that "Russia’s new laws – banning same-sex foreign couples from adopting Russian children in addition to banning LGBT advocacy – are part of the country’s very search for survival".  You can read Buzz Feed's article for more of the nauseating details about Why Russia Turned Against the Gays, but the gist of the article is that Russia and Petit Czar Putin (the 21st Century reincarnation of Hitler) needed an enemy to blame Russia's problems on, choosing the Gays as the most likely to be easily vilified.  With backing by another homophobe in a dress, Patriarch Kirill the head of the Russian Orthodox Church (the Russian's version of Pope Benedict XVI), Putin and the Duma have literally licensed state sanctioned violence and persecution against all things Gay in Russia.  Patriarch Kirill has often stated that gay marriage is a “dangerous apocalyptic system” that leads a nation “on a path of self-destruction.”  All we need now is SA or SS troopers jack booting their way around the country aiding and abetting the violence.  Oh wait, we already have that in the Russian National Police who seem to be bosom bedfellows with all those perpetrating the violence.

In the mean time, Petit Czar Putin practices the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous with his new Billion Dollar Palace, multiple other residences around the country and his $700,000 watch collection.  "Any serious opposition to Russia's new Czar Vladimir Putin find themselves in jail, beaten or even killed. Russia loves it Czar's and it has a new one in the best tradition of Peter the Great, Catherine the Great and Nicholas II".  Putin has plundered everything that he can get his hands on, again like unto the Nazi plundering of Europe's treasures during WWII, amassing a personal wealth some estimate to exceed the 40  Billion dollar mark.  What's next, the Crown and Scepter of Nicholas II and the Ermine robes of Czars past?  Let's hope we don't have to have another World War to rid ourselves of this modern day version of Hitler and the Nazis.  (Maybe we just need to hire a hit squad to shoot him and his family in the basement of a dacha like they did to Nicholas and Alexandra et al).
