Texas' War on Women

In an act of incredible stupidity and animus towards women, the TX House Republicans, in a second special session, provisionally passed a draconian  abortion bill and sent it on to the Senate where there like-bigoted and boneheaded partners in crime are expected to pass it also.  Then of course the idiot in the Statehouse, religious right lapdog that he is, will surely sign it into law. 

Republican Rep. Jody Laubenberg of Parker outlined the bill that would require doctors to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals, only allow abortions in surgical centers, dictate when abortion pills are taken and ban abortions after 20 weeks. Exceptions to the ban would only be allowed when the women’s life was in imminent danger.  Opponents of the Texas restrictions say they would effectively ban abortion in much of the nation’s second most-populous state by causing the closure of 37 of its 42 abortion clinics.

This is the same bill that Democratic State Senator Wendy Davis successfully filibustered in the last special session.   Houston Rep. Sarah Davis, the only Republican opposed to the law, warned that the bill as written is unconstitutional and she offered an amendment to make it less stringent.  “I believe the bill as drafted will be a defacto ban on abortion,” she said. “No one wants to see abortions, it’s a terrible way to end a pregnancy, but it is a constitutionally protected right.”  It’s unclear if the Texas restrictions could survive a court challenge.   Federal courts have already suspended aspects of the bill passed by other states.  

What is it about the GOP that makes them want to control every one's sex life but their own?  Is it because they are a bunch of limp-dicked motherfuckers who cannot get any of their own therefore want to deny it to everyone else?  Why do they hate women and want to control their right to choose what course of action they want to take with their own bodies?  Do they hate women because they are limp-dicked motherfuckers or just because they can?  Why do they still consider women to be chattel to be bought, bartered and bandied about at their every whim?  Why do the simpletons in their political base keep electing these pimples on a donkey's butt?  I find it hard to believe that in the year 2013, there are still so many dunderheads that want to deny freedom and dignity to women and other minorities just to prove their macho masculinity and over lordship.  In actuality they are proving themselves to be sad, pathetic, evil, irresponsible caretakers of the common good unworthy of the privilege of  "serving " the public which they represent.  Sometimes I wonder why it is that I still live here and for the life of me I can not think of a valid reason to continue to do so other than the lack of funds to get the fuck outta here.
