Today is the day those of us who live in the US pause to reflect and give thanks for the blessings in our lives. Traditionally it is a day filled with the three F's: Family, Food and Football. For some of us the Family thing is not all that it is cracked up to be. However, Family does not have to mean 'blood relative'. Many of us have created our own 'Families of Choice' with whom we share our meaningful moments and our holiday cheer. More and more, Americans are realizing that our Families are just like their Families. Our ability to create a permanent, legally recognized Family because of Marriage Equality has expanded now to 9 states along with the District of Columbia. More and more states have expanded adoption rights to include same sex Families and the LGBT community has embraced these opportunities to create our Families. Families of love, honor and commitment, Families that grow together, sharing the the normal joys and sorrows of life. No matter what your Family situation, I hope your day is filled with love and joy as we officially start this holiday season. I will be spending most of the day watching the three NFL contests on tap for today: the Houston Texans at the Detroit Lions, the New England Patriots at the New York Jets and of course the not to be missed Washington Redskins at the Dallas Cowboys, one of the great rivalries in the NFL. Tradition is on the Cowboys side, let's hope the Cowboys keep with tradition and defeat the Redskins creating their first 3 game winning streak of the season.
To help you guys celebrate the holiday, I have a great video comprising the Complete French Suites by Johann Sebastian Bach. The performance is by Reine Gianoli from the 1974 Westminster LP. The play list has the Suites played in numerical order: French Suite No. 1 in D minor, BWV 812, French Suite No. 2 in C minor, BWV 813, French Suite No. 3 in B minor, BWV 814, French Suite No. 4 in E flat major, BWV 815, French Suite No. 5 in G major, BWV 816 and French Suite No. 6 in E major, BWV 817. The video is followed by a little collection of denim delight with these marvelous Men In Jeans. I assure you there are no 'turkeys' in this collection, however one can always imagine chowing down on a leg, thigh or perhaps a breast which you find particularly appealing as you scroll down the page. Once again, thanks for the visit, have a happy holiday and we will see you tomorrow. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
