Debate 3, Mozart and Tuesday's Temptations

I did not get to see the debate last night, nor have I had a chance to watch the video of the whole thing.  However, I saw snippets of the review when they delivered the newspapers to the store and some of the reviews on line since I have been home.  The consensus of the pundits is that the President prevailed over Governor Romney once again.  The best comeback also belonged to the President as he skewered Mitt Romney on his stated policy of adding trillions to the defense budget, and his claim America’s Navy is weak because we have fewer ships than in 1916.  The President then rejoined with “Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets, because the nature of our military’s changed. We have these things called aircraft carriers, where planes land on them. We have these ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines. And so the question is not a game of Battleship, where we’re counting slips. It’s what are our capabilities.” Of course this sparked an Internet meme and yes, there is already a tumblr with a collection of them posted.  There is also a facebook graphic that you can share.  There were probably other good moments too, but like I said I have not had time to do any in depth review of the debate yet.  I do have the video that the Presidents uploaded after the debate:

Now because I am running a little late this morning I will move on to the music and the men so I can get a couple of other things done before I have to head to bed to rest up for truck night with the newbie (oh, Joy!).  The play list for today has two excellent pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart beginning with his Quartet for Oboe, Violin, Viola and Cello in F, KV370 performed by Christoph Gerbeth (Oboe), Kirill Sharapov (Violin), Andrii Chop (Viola) and Anna Nuzha (Cello) recorded in April of this year. Then this piece which is not often heard, the Serenade No. 10 for 13 Winds in B-flat major, K 361/370a "Gran Partita". Performed by members of the Orchestra of St. Luke's under the direction of Sir Charles Mackerras featuring Oboe - Stephen Taylor (principal) & Melanie Field, Clarinet - William Blount (principal) & Daniel Olsen, Bassett Horn - Gary Koch (principal) & Mitchell Weiss, Horn - Stewart Rose (principal), Scott Temple, William Purvis, and Russell Rizner, Bassoon - Dennis Godburn (principal) & Marc Goldberg and String Bass - John Feeney. Recorded by Telarc in 1994.

Finally today, I have some scrumptious Tuesday Temptations to lead you astray as you make your way down the page.  Thanks for stopping in, see you tomorrow.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
