Happy Hump Day!

My Internet has been down since about 5:30 yesterday and it has just come back up.  They had to replace the node in my area as it failed completely.  So for the sake of expediency I have re-posted a great play list by Rinat Ibragimov, principal double bass of the London Symphony Orchestra together with Catherine Edwards, performing Jan Křtitel Vaňhal's Double Bass Concerto and Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf's Double Bass Concerto, both originally written in E Sharp Major but performed here a semitone lower. These popular pieces of double bass repertoire are commonly called for in auditions, and here Rinat demonstrates their performance using the original bass part and the Viennese Tuning that would have been in vogue at the time of their composition. Rinat plays a d-bass by Matheus Albany, a gift from his colleague and friend Alexander Stepanov. He uses Pirastro Eudoxa strings.  I also have a goodly portion of Humpable Hunks on display after the play list to get you over your weekday hump and headed for the weekend.  I read a couple of hilarious articles on Advocate.com yesterday that you will probably enjoy also so I have linked to them right above the play list.  Thanks for stopping by, see you again tomorrow for my Blogiversary.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
