Welcome to September! This is one of my favorite months because that means the heat will finally break here in Texas and the highs will only be in the 90's instead of the 100's, sometimes even cooling off to a daytime high in the 80's. You would not believe the difference just a few degrees make when it comes to the Texas heat. I also always think of that silly romantic comedy from 1961, Come September starring Rock Hudson. The plot is really pretty simple:
"Robert L. Talbot (Rock Hudson), an American millionaire, arrives early for his annual vacation at his luxurious Italian villa. His long-time girlfriend Lisa (Gina Lollobrigida) has given up waiting for him to "pop the question," and has decided to marry another man. Meanwhile, his sneaky business associate Maurice (Walter Slezak) secretly misappropriates the villa as a hotel while Talbot is away. The current guests of the "hotel" are a group of young American girls trying to fend off a gang of oversexed boys, led by Tony (Bobby Darin). "
I remember watching this movie and the antics were cute and funny with just the right touch of romance for the budding romantic gay boy that I was. the film also marked teenage heartthrob Bobby Darin's film debut. He really set my heart to pumping although I did not know why at the time (I was only 10). This film was, of course, a perfect vehicle for Rock Hudson whose very Gay private life was hidden by the number of Hollywood sex kittens he made movies and appearances with. All in all it was a fun time and a fond memory every year about this time.
For today's musical selection, once again I was inspired while listening to Venice Classic Radio when they played this particular piece the other night. After hearing it, I went looking for it on You Tube and found this version of the Lute Partita in C Minor, BWV997 by Johann Sebastian Bach performed by Stephan Schmidt. The Lute being the medieval string instrument similar to today's guitar. Bach wrote several pieces for the Lute but I really liked this one when I heard it so I thought I would share it with you guys.
To go along with the randomness of my thought process of today, I thought a little Random Hotness from the archives would be appropriate. These photos are sensual in their own way without necessarily fitting into one or another of my preset eye candy themes. Thanks for the visit, stop in tomorrow to see what I have up my sleeve to amuse and titillate you then. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
