Best of the Web This Week

I really enjoyed yesterday's live concert event with the Berliner Philhamoniker.  I had never heard the complete Symphony Number 7 by Gustav Mahler so I had anticipated a joyous discovery of new to me music.  I was not disappointed.  The Digital Concert Hall puts you on stage with the orchestra from many different camera angles so you get the feeling that you are really there.  The recording microphones were strategically placed to produce an outstanding acoustical broadcast.  The Philharmonie Concert Hall is designed so the audience surrounds the orchestra and I don't think there is a bad seat in the entire house.  The music itself in one part or another featured every section of the orchestra including parts for guitar, mandolin, two harps and the carillon in addition to the traditional orchestral components.   All in all it was well worth staying up past my normal bedtime to absorb this truly magnificent performance live from Berlin.

I was in the mood for some classical guitar music as I was looking for something to post for today when I ran across a cool set of videos with Soft, Slow, Romantic Acoustic Guitar Music which are original compositions from the Close To You CD by Aldo combined with the soothing sound of waves from various Florida beaches.  I thought they would be the perfect accompaniment while you guys cruise through my selections for the Best of the Web This Week.  I collected nearly 600 photographs this week so once again the selection process was a difficult, yet pleasurable task.  I think you will like the results of my efforts both aurally and visually.  Thanks for the visit, see you again on Monday here at Nichevo.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
