The Situation As It Is

"Fissure"

I have really been on a ranting tear for the last week or so, but today I do not feel like ranting. I am really very concerned because Will's knee is not getting better. He is finding it increasingly difficult to be mobile even just around the apartment. As my current employer does not offer any insurance benefits, I am somewhat at a loss for a solution, as the only way Will's knee will get better is to have it surgically repaired. He has a torn meniscus which is the cartilage behind the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee which acts as a buffer between the upper and lower bones in the leg. We are attempting to get him into the local Public Health Service hospital here in Fort Worth but I may make more money than is allowed for benefits which is of concern to me. I cannot really afford the cost of knee surgery without insurance and insurance in the absence of group rates is way too expensive to purchase. Even if I did purchase health insurance, I do not know if a policy I bought would extend benefits to him as we are neither blood kin nor in a recognized domestic partnership arrangement. And we certainly are not married, as even if we were so inclined (which we are not as Will is straight) we could not get married in Texas anyway. Therein lies the great quandary of this time in our lives. How do I help get him well and how do I pay for it? Wally world, his former employer, has blocked all workman's comp and unemployment benefits so there is no funding coming from that area. We have just about made it through all the backlog of expenses related to his move from Nebraska and our subsequent move into our new apartment home, where we have become quite comfortable. We are still fighting to get our deposit back from Freedom Power resulting in our formal complaint to the BBB in Austin which is where the ruthless bastards are located. They have agreed to refund our deposit, but have as yet to cut the check and mail it. Our deposit will be less a cancellation fee of $60 which we both feel is undeserved as they provided no services to us at all. We may have to initiate legal action there which would add another expense to our already fragile economic situation. Like I said we are coming out of the back log, but a legal fight and the looming prospect of Will's most necessary surgery will tax our ability to maintain a firm fiscal presence. There fore I have decided to request help from you all, my dear readers. If you can in anyway help us in this financial struggle it would be most appreciated. I ask not for myself but for Will. If he is to become viable economically, first he must be able to walk or stand for more than an hour or two at a time. There is a donate button in the side bar connected to my Pay Pal account that would make any donation you feel you could make easy to accomplish by simply clicking on the button and following the prompts from Pay Pal. I do not ordinarily ask for monetary contributions in a post, but I fear for Will's health and will do what ever is in my power to resolve the situation in that regard. Those of you who are long time readers have watched our friendship grow over the last 15 months or so and I hope you all realize by now how much he means to me. If you can see your way clear to help him help himself, again it would be most appreciated by the both of us. I thank you all in advance for any help you can send Will's way. He does not know that I am writing about this today, he will find out when he reads it after publication just like you all. He is fiercely independent and does not like accepting help but in this case I fear he must for his own well being for which I have freely taken the responsibility. God Bless you all.

For today's eye candy I thought I would delve into the archives for a little Beauty in Black and White to not only illustrate the beauty of the men in the photographs but the starkness of our situation at the present time. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
