To The Brink and Back

"My Fairyland"

I have been on a pretty heavy political rant in my posts this week, but today I am not up to a rant. My buddy Ryan at Boys Are Ugly has written of his bouts of depression while I have tried to avoid the subject, yet I too suffer from that dreaded malady, clinical depression. It pulls sneak attacks for no reason and is triggered in me by excessive stress. The last couple of months have been a lot of stress for me as I have tried to be there for everyone but me. It came to a head the other night and was almost a terminal bout. I am grateful to Will for his patience and understanding but most especially for pulling me from the brink of stupidity. Your intrepid Uncle has really stretched his resources with all the happenings in my life which in turn stressed me way out triggering the current bout of self doubt and depression. Fortunately I have some marvelous friends and blog buddies that care what happens to me with whom I can share my feelings. Will has been the strength I needed as well as the joy of my existence. I really need to return to counseling and get back on my meds. I don't like the meds because of the side effects but they do keep me calmer and less prone to fits of rage followed by deep depression. Therefore I will be seeking help as soon as is possible. Depression is common in my generation of Gay adults for many reasons, not the least of which is familial turmoil and or ostracizing of which I have plenty with my blood kin. As my former psychiatrist told me I have a "boat load" of issues there which I have tried to bury in many ways, but they always seem to come back to bite me in the ass. I am surprised I have any ass left this week. (lol) But fear not gentle readers, Uncle is not going away and we will deal with this as expeditiously as we can. Thank you, Will for being you and there for me.

I did manage to gather a few Friday Night Fantasies to tickle your fancy for today. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
