A Message to Mr Obama

"Isla de la Sol, Lake Titicaca, Bolivia"

There has been a great deal of hubbub about many Gay rights issues in the news lately along with the horrific reports of repression in Iran (where they have no Gays because they kill them). The feeble attempts of the White house to appease our activists by schmoozing them at a cocktail party or the tossing of crumbs from the table simply will not suffice. I have been reluctant to criticize the President as I was one of his biggest supporters in the run up to the election, rather taking a wait and see attitude. That time is over. I am tired of feeling like my life has no value and persons such as myself having absolutely no civil rights (here in Texas especially and federally in general). Where is the moral outrage and courage to bring change that was so heavily alluded to in the campaign. Are our dollars all that the ruling party wants? I am in favor of the boycotts and protests being planned for the DNC fundraisers in DC and Boston. We must cut off the the tap that makes our money flow to those who do not value us as human beings. I don't have to understand anything more than the fact I have the right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" due any American as guaranteed by the Constitution of these United States. The time is now Mr President, show the courage and leadership you promised when you took our money and our votes, or the next time around, you will find yourself severely lacking in both. In this same vein there are some fair minded Democrats in the Congress (some 76 of them) who have sent a letter to the President calling for the immediate suspension of the enforcement of DADT while congress drafts a new measure to repeal this onerous piece of legislation. You can read the text of the letter over at Towleroad here. As a Gay veteran discharged for being Gay, I feel the time has come for our brave service members who must live in the shadow of the closet to serve their country in the open light of freedom. How about it Mr President, are you a man of your word or are you just another political lackey with no cojones?

Today's eye candy section features the interplay of Shadow and Light on the male form to illustrate how the light can chase the shadows away and accentuate the body beautiful which is exactly why we should chase away the shadow of the closet and let our service members shine in their own light. Until next time as always, Enjoy!

I too supported Pres. Obama.I also took the wait and see approach. I am now so disgusted and disappointed a cannot see straight (no pun LOL!)Once again the Gay people have given and supported and then pushed aside until needed. I un-subscribed from e-mail up dates and when i filled out the form as to why i "let loose" with a very nice but strongly worded list of reasons. never have heard back.....hmmmm....wonder why!?
