The Rest of the Story

"Shores of St. Martin"

Once I had finally returned to the friendly environs of our new home, Will and I had yet to solve the power crisis. We discussed the problems we were having with the original contractor and decided to fore go their services. We wanted our deposit back and called to tell them so, whereupon they said they would submit it to their business office and it would take 3-5 business days. It is always amazing to me how companies are in such a hurry to collect money and reluctant to return it when due a customer. At any rate that is in process and awaiting its arrival. That still left us without power and literally in the dark. If you live in Texas, I would highly advise you do not contract with Freedom Power due to their bait and switch tactics and their abysmal customer service. So when all else fails hit the yellow pages and search for a more reputable company which is what Will and I did. We called Direct Energy whose call center is in Corpus Christi (Texas Gulf Coast) where we talked to a couple of real pleasant people who solved our power crises. It cost us a $300 deposit and 3 business days, but we have a reliable, reputable company to provide us our electric service. Direct Energy provides power to such luminaries as the Dallas Cowboys and Blue Bell Creameries (makers of the best ice cream in the country!), tow of my favorite corporate entities. WE received our initial power burst between 10:10 and 10:11 AM on Wednesday the 17th, another binary type number to go along with our apartment number of 1111. For us geek types a totally appropriate address. So there you have the story of my disappearance and subsequent reappearance. Thanks for being patient and sticking around to find out what happened. I have no intentions of repeating this adventure any time soon as it was not the pleasure filled weekend I had imagined. The week without power did give Will and I a chance to get better acquainted with f2f conversations and we had some killer convos and excellent card games, generally cementing the soundness of our friendship and stepping it up another level. Will is my best friend in the world and I would not trade our friendship for anything.

All that being said it is now time for the pretty boys to make their appearance in this weeks edition of Monday's Undies for your viewing pleasure. Stay tuned as I try to catch up on the world around us and add whatever pithy commentary to current events as I see fit to publish. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
