"Storm Clouds Over the City"
Yesterday was a great day with plenty of sunshine and coolish temps in the 50's. Business was brisk all day as we prepared for our health inspection which we passed with no problem. I rerouted the cordage for the EBT machine so it now sits between the two registers with easy access from either side to speed up the process. It is making a real difference in sales as the word spreads and more of our customers discover we kept our promise to be able to process their benefits. I am becoming very comfortable in my role as the gentleman grocer to the neighborhood. Living in the neighborhood has been good for customer relations as all my neighbors are also my customers. I am learning more names every day, just a knack I have for picking them up, but it sure helps when customers are recognized by name, it makes the others feel more at home also. We are the friendly place to shop in the 'hood and we respond to our customers needs who in turn respond to ours with their dollars and cents. We as a team are getting better every dayas more and more things fall into place. Our next big thing is the refit for the fresh food service. In addition to our two roller grills and Nacho machine we will be adding pizza and hot wings as well as new items on the grills to expand the menu somewhat. Our lunch business is increasing daily as the rush is lasting longer each day. Though not perfect, we are on course and making headway under full steam.
While putzing around the web yesterday after I got off work I found something interesting on You Tube following one of the links Will sent during our conversation with R J (a gamer friend of Will's). The channel is called Playing For Change and it is a non profit organization which calls itself a movement to bring people world wide together through music. Here is their cover of Ben E. King's "Stand By Me":
This is another great concept that I will be following with great interest and anticipation. I found the video when reading this page of the Chatta Mom blog which was hilarious in itself and worth a read. Then while StumblingUpon different sites I ran across this:
That is about all I have for now except of course for this week's edition of Hump Day Hunks who are raring to appease your scrolling pleasure. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
