Monday Mixed Bag

al-Haram Mosque at Sunset
Mecca

I had a pretty good weekend considering all factors involved. I was fighting a cold all weekend (thank you DayQuill and NyQuil) so I had some periods of discomfort mixed with lots of activity at work. Will on the other hand had a bad case of something that had him erupting from both ends of his body with a fever too. He could not hold things down or in so he was pretty miserable and definitely was not a happy camper. He was sick of being sick by the end of the weekend. Needless to say Uncle Gerry had to do some hand holding and practice my best bedside manner in order to comfort and commiserate with him. He felt so much worse than I did I could not complain of my own maladies. I hope you get better real soon, buddy.

I do have some good news on the EBT front. We finally received our POS machine and can now process our customer's nutrition benefits. The POS machine arrived Friday afternoon and was ready to go when I plugged it in. Talk about celebration, after such a struggle to get through the governmental red tape in order to get it, I was ready to shout. My customers are really happy with us for finally getting it too. I look for increased sales because of it and it is already showing up in the daily totals. That I received my POS machine in less than the promised 14 days was directly attributable to my conversation with Clarence that I posted about the other day. He called to make sure I got my machine and told me next time he was in Fort Worth up from Austin he was going to come by to collect. Now all I have to do is figure out whether he wants dinner, a case of beer or a blow job. I offered his choice of one of the three when pleading for expediting of the process. I got the machine in 4 days instead of 14 which tells me he wants one thing or another, but hey whatever it takes to get things done, right?

It should be a good week weather wise with mild temperatures all week so people will be out and about. Those who survive on government assistance will still have money this week and will spend it. And those with EBT benefits should add their piece to the pie also. One note about the NFL playoffs, who would have thought the NFC championship game would be in Arizona with the Cardinals playing the Eagles for the right to go to the Super Bowl at the beginning of the season? Just goes to show you, that is why they play the games. As the old saying goes "on any given Sunday..." and you can never tell what will happen until it happens. That brings us to this weeks edition of Monday Model Men to get your week off to a good start. Have a great day and we will catch you here tomorrow. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
