Work, Will And A Day Without A Gay

Godiva Chocolates, Brussells, Belgium

I enjoyed my visit with my old boss yesterday. I worked for her for several years before corporate and I got into a disagreement and forced my ouster. We were and are more than employer/employee, we have a genuine affection for each other. I remember coming out to her on National Coming Out Day. She told me that day she hired me for my quals and loved me for what was in my heart. To this day I would work for her anytime, anywhere. She offered to continue to be my mentor in my new position and I do believe her phone number will be on my speed dial!

I was going to take some pictures for you guys yesterday, however the bus from the hotel runs to the Intermodal Transportation Center, one stop up the tracks from the T & P Station. So I thought I would take the train all the way to the T & P Station on the return trip, which I did. One thing I did not do before leaving the house was check the batteries in the camera. I have rechargeable batteries but lord knows where they & their chargers are at this moment, so the pictures will have to come at some later time.

Yesterday was Will's day off so we did get to spend some hours on the phone last night until we were both so sleepy we could not keep our eyes open. He is still asleep at this point and I am up and wide awake because my body clock is still weirding out trying to adjust itself. As is our usual bent, he Stumbles and shares his finds with me and I in turn share them with you guys here.

The I shared the following link with him which you should really check out. Remember back during the Immigration Protests they had a "Day without a Latino" protest where Latinos called in "sick" that day. Well, Join the Impact, the people behind the massive Prop 8 protests last weekend are organizing a "Day without a Gay" on December 10, 2008. You can sign up to call in "gay" that day and devote yourself to service to our community here. Myself, I think it is a great idea. How many people do you know who are clueless about the number of gay people in their lives? America just might take notice if we all take the day off to work for equal rights. Can you imagine what all those Republican women are going to do without their hairdresses, florists and decorators for a day? Or the truckers without a clue whose "best buddies" take off to volunteer for equality or any one of millions of Americans whose lives are affected daily by gay people living their lives in quiet dignity and respect when they get loud and proud surprising all in their path. Should prove to be an interesting day all around. That is all I have for today except for this weeks collection of Random Hotness for your edification. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
