Mitcham Takes Gold, Obama Picks Biden

Angelic Vortex

This week has bee a doozy as far as activities and duties requiring my participation goes. When last we conversed I said I had Tales to tell and no time in which to tell them. We will get to them perhaps later but first I must congratulate the only out male athlete at the Beijing games, Matthew Mitcham has won the Gold Medal in the 10M Platform Diving competition overcoming a deficit of 35 points at the start of the final round with a spectacular dive which scored an incredible 112.10 points to give him the lead by 3 points inthe final talley.

In the other good news today Barack Obama has chosen Senator Joe Biden of Delaware as his running mate in the fall election. This brings a whole raft of foreign relations experience to the ticket as Senator Biden is Chairman of the Foreign Services Committee. It is a very good choice, serving to negate one of Senator McCain' most prevalent criticisms, that of Obama's experience level in these things. What Senator McCain fails to remember is great men do not know everything, but they do know who to ask to find the answer they seek. I got the email with the announcement at 3:30 this morning just as CNN was making a big to do about the selection. With the convention opening on Monday in Denver and most crucial business already taken care of, it should be a pleasure to watch the affirmation process of a history making candidacy. The acceptance speech is sceduled for the anniversay of the MLK assasination. One special guest on that evening will be Mohammed Ali, who almost never gets political anymore. Mr Ali called the Obama campaign saying he wanted to be there to watch history being made. It should be a grand night and a great party!

I ran across last nights videos of Countdown with Keith Olbermann in my Google Reader and thought they were so on point I could not resist posting them here for you . MSNBC does not offer a custom playere feature as does You Tube so there are four segments to the show all posted below. The videos are followed by this weekes edition of Saturday Night Studs with a whole stable full of hot hunks waitng to strut their stuff as you scroll down the page. IIn regards to todays header photo, I added about 1400 new wallpaper photos to my hard drive yesterday and I just thought this one looked cool, look for more as the days go by. I will be taking tomorrow off from blogging but will be sure to have something interesting to say on Monday, maybe even some weekend adventure photos, who knows where we will end up casting our anchor for the night on the journey that is Nichevo. Thanks for stopping by, come back again real soon. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
