Reflections On The Week

Chateau Chillon, Switzerland

As I look back over the last week or so, there have been so many things occur to improve my overall situation both at work and in my off hours. The addition of a quality back up auditor eased my 7 day schedule back into 5 resulting in a new schedule by Mr Taj giving me weekends off. The more time passes, the more I am convinced it was the correct decision to uproot myself from Big D and plant myself in North Little Rock. As for my off hours, with the success of the Grand Experiment, my online activities have been a sheer joy. Tasks that used to take up so much of my time now take up a third of the time or less. Putting together a post has become an even more easily accomplished task, which makes it even more enjoyable. I have spent most of the last twenty four hours putzing around the house and getting chores done. I have been putting off the laundry for a while so I got that done today while I got the groceries done yesterday. I also managed to get about a jillion hours in online where the new found muscle in my platform allows me to have VOIP, Chat, multi-tab browsing and music streaming going all at the same time making time spent there even more addictive than it was already. With the addition of the two small pieces of furniture (a rolling cabinet that fits under my desk and a filing cabinet that sits at the end next to the wall) has put the finishing touch on a work/recreation /commuication/information command center worthy of the name. This is a source of some small amount of pride as I have slowly acquired all the pieces to make the current configuration possible through my own efforts and the technology has been pieced together one step at a time as my knowledge increased and my budget allowed. There is a tweak or two left to do like a nice flat panel monitor and the digital camera with which to record photographic evidence of my adventures, but they will come in time. All in all I would say I am pretty fucking happy to be where I am, doing what I do, and possessing the small amount of things I do that make my life truly enjoyable. With the state of affairs in the world and the US economy in the tank, I would have to say I am to be considered one damn lucky fellow to have gotten where I find myself today from where it was I came from not so very long ago. As I pause to say thank you to whatever powers that be who combined their benevolence for my benefit, I want to say thank you to all my readers who have come along for the ride on this little journey we call Nichevo. May we continue to discover new delights together for a long, long time. I now leave you with some Sultry Saturday Studs to fuel your fantasies. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
