More Misadventures

Surfers' Summer Paradise

Dang, it is Wednesday already, this week is moving right along. I have enjoyed my two days off after working so many in a row. I enjoyed a little "staycation" time puttering around the house, doing a little shopping and surfing on the Internet. In my surfing I have found a digital camera that is affordable and of good quality (Nikon) that is also my favorite color of blue! So some of my overtime on this check will go to Nikon and soon I will be able to upload photos of my various adventures in the River Cites area. I bought a web cam but took it back as I did not like the video quality on that particular web cam and decided to go with the digital camera instead as I could go more places with it than with the web cam. As we go along I may eventually get a camcorder, but that is listed as a way future project as there are more important things to get before I jump off into camcorders. We will also see how my skills as a digital photographer develop as well. That should prove interesting in and of itself.

My new memory sticks arrived today but my computer did not like them. As a result I called the company where I bought them where the gentlemen who answered the phone was very helpful although not a techy or geek. He wrote down everything I said and was sending it to the geeks so they could tell me which of their products my Dell computer will not regurgitate. It seems that Dell has some fairly persnickity memory slots or something that makes it only accept certain types of Pc3200 DDR ram. As soon as I figure out with the help of the geeks which ones will work in my machine I will buy and install them. I could have avoided all this adventure if I had broke down and bought a brand new machine with Vista on it, but I cannot find it in my heart to give into the Evil Empire and go with their new wonder child that is compatible with almost nothing. That fact is supposedly improving but I still am very hesitant to embrace Darth Gates latest abomination to be foisted on the computing world. My hope is to one day be able to buy a Mac of my choice and leave the Evil Empire to eat itself in its insidiousness. All that being said let's move on to the eye candy and make everyone happy, yours truly included, as I have some fine fellows for you to leer...um gaze upon. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
