It's The Little Things

Playa Pita, Costa Rica

In the course of my work day, I handle lots and lots of paperwork, most of which has to be fastened to one another in some form or fashion. ID copies to registration cards, ID Copies to credit card vouchers, Reports, adjustments, paid outs. All of these various things pass through my hands daily needing to be sorted, filed, filled out, folded, stapled or otherwise mutated through the information system. So the stapler is my friend, supposedly. We have a coworker who is death to staplers at 100 feet. I have reports that are 25 and 30 pages needing to be stapled together and these poor refuges from the junk heap who have suffered abuse at the hands of the death master can not put two pieces of paper together with out screwing up. In my travels the other day I told you about here, while I was at Walgreen's I came across the item pictured below with which I am thoroughly delighted:

OK, big deal it is a stapler, just a little thing. But what a stapler it is. Not only does it come in your choice of designer colors (I chose the aquamarine model pictured), it is designed to staple 15 sheets of paper with the touch of just one finger, I have used it on my thickest reports without problem or more effort than for lesser amounts. The secret to this little marvel is the spring loaded mechanism inside that multiplies the kinetic energy of your finger push with a spring loader which propels the strike plate into the staple driving it through the necessary papers at 25 pounds of pressure. I get a kick out of it every time I use it. As one with slightly arthritic hands, a carbon zero footprint device which eases one of those hands most common tasks is a most welcome innovation and possibly the best ten dollars I have spent in a long, long time. This mechanical marvel accompanies me to work and back home again so as to avoid the evil clutches of the master of stapler death. If you have to staple lots of papers, then I would suggest you procure one of these Paper Pro staplers post haste, you will not be disappointed in the value for the dollar or the ease of performance you will be the proud possessor of. Is it not amazing how such little things have such big effects on our lives?

For entertainment today we have a short two parter Where in the world is Davey Wavey? parts one and two and six Holly Oaks videos that will catch you up to todays broadcast episode. Unfortunately they are not in a custome player as You Tube was being obstinate this morning. It seems you are unabel to rearrange videos in a playlist in their new play list display format. So if they do not get saved to the play list in the order you want them, you are screwed as far as fixing it. I emailed You Tube about this bug in the new feature to which I received an automated reply telling me the exact same thing I found out on the web site. They went on to state if they felt my concern was dealt with by already published material I would probably not receive any other response. Basically F U deal with it. So I posted the videos separately until I can figure a way around the cumbersomeness of the new system or find and alternate source for these same videos you guys enjoy so much. After the videos comes another heaping helping of eye candy to get your week started off on an up beat (and may a down? and then another... and another....). Until next time as always, Enjoy!
