Ah, Friday again at last!! Another week has flown by and here we are ready for a busy weekend full of sports activity here in the River Cities. Today through Sunday is Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza along the North Shore River Walk for all you anglers out thereand starting tomorrow in Burns Park the USTA National Boys/Girls 14's Open tournament runs through July 2. Then the biggest event is being held on both sides of the river in AllTel Arena and The State House Convention Center. This event started on the 23rd and continues through Sunday. "This event" is the American Taekwondo Association World Championships in all weight classes and belt levels. So we have anglers, tennis pro hopefuls and lots of guys running around in white pajamas trying to kick each other giving us a wide spectrum of guests. This should prove to be interesting for people watching if nothing else. I have to work all weekend so I will probably not be attending any events, however I am sure I will hear about them and be able to bring you some of the excitement via the local media.
I am expecting my new memory sticks in the mail from WalMart where I found the two pack of 1 ghz sticks on sale for 70 bucks. The shipping confirmation said arrival would be between Thursday (yesterday) and Monday. I am hoping today or tomorrow and not Monday but we are talking the post office here, although the post office is just across the street. I also bought another piece of peripheral gear that I am looking forward to playing with, but that is for another post. For your entertainment this evening we have the Friday Evening Concert featuring three classical composers Rachmaninov, Liszt, and Chopin. Before we get to the classics we have a brief word from Bravo which is telecasting the GLAAD Media Awards tonight and a little something smooth and jazzy from Angelique Kidjo called Lemanja.
