Here we find ourselves at Wednesday once again already! My, my how times does fly when you are having fun. It is surprising to me how quickly time can get away from you in the most ordinary and the most unusual circumstances. When we think about time it passes so slowly yet when our minds are engaged elsewhere, time just slips right away from us. Such was the cas when we left yours truly in the last episode. I had finally achieved lift off and was ready to play a little, well not really play but tweak and prod and poke to get the new wonder platform to the place I wanted it to be. I discovered I was not as thorough in my preparations as I thought. When this project started I had not conceived of any possibility of having to reformat the C drive. Thus I neglected to save my FireFox2 profile to my D drive along with a viable installation of Photoshop7 each of which presents its own share of challenges. Thankfully most of the places I visit regularly have links from here at Nichevo or else I know the url by heart so rebuilding the bookmarks folder will take time but is completely doable. Photoshop7 is another thing altogether as I do not possess a hard copy either (I did not own it to begin with, a friend installed his copy on my computer). It is not a big problem but I found it extremely useful in resizing and customizing photos beyond what Picasa2 offers. So I will be looking for a used or pirated copy to load onto my machine or one of which I could burn a copy of with my Nero software. So I toyed a bit with it while talking to Will on Skype before heading to bed finally at 2 PM which cave me time enough to get 8 hours sleep. However it was not to be......

I fell into bed after taking some pm pain relievers to facilitate rest and was soon fast asleep, but not for as long as I would have hoped. I got up about 4 hours into my nap to take a potty break before returning to slumber when the house phone range. This is usually not good news. The only people who call that phone are the ones who do not know my cell number or my Skype In number which leaves work. That would therefore mean either a question on something I might have knowledge of or the dreaded call for my presence behind the desk at a time other than my regular schedule. It was the dreaded option in this case which means that with only 6 out of 72 hours being involved in what is laughingly called "rest" I was once again headed into work to lend my assistance. I worked a few hours, took a short break then returned for my regular shift at midnight without gaining another wink of sleep. Saturday night was busy but not crazy like Friday as most guests were already in house and going about their weekend at the Hot Rod Show or baseball or soccer tournaments or too drunk to bother me in the performance of my duties as auditor. As a methodical person I follow a mapped out routine to accomplish the nightly audit of the books and computer records to insure the correctness of the data which contributes greatly to our ability to enhance the profitability of our property by recognizing the significance of each set of numbers to the resultant bottom line. There are certain activities that I like to have performed at certain times to ensure my timely departure at the end of my shift which most night does not present a problem, even on the busy ones. As it proved out in this instance on Saturday night for I was beyond tired at this point what ever descriptive term you would like to use for it. My favorite is F*****g Trampled by elephants on stampede. None the less your intrepid Uncle did perform his duties to the best of his meager ability to do so in his exhaustive state. In the realm of when your luck is not so lucky what else but a crowd of in house guests coming for their breakfast coupons and stay overs that swept me past the appointed hour in the blink of an eye. But at last Uncle was able to clock out and head to the house. This too was not yet the end of the story, just all you will hear of it for today. There is only one more chapter and it is all good for all is well that ends well. This little four day experiment in sleep deprivation therapy would soon come to an end with a lot of fatigue and a great deal of satisfaction at the ultimate turn of events.
