One More Step Along The Path

Acacia Tree At Sunset, Africa

Happy Friday everyone, this week is just zooming by at an amazing speed. It has been a real good week not only here in NLR but especially in California where their Supreme Court struck down the ban on same sex marriage on Thursday. This clears the way for California to be the second state where us folks can get hitched here in America. We now have bookends on both coasts, how long will it take for the middle of the country to catch up? This is just the tip of the iceberg or the second domino in the series to fall (Massachusetts being the first), we will see other states follow suit and eventually even the federal government will finally recognize us as full and valued citizens of this great land. It is an amazing time we are living in, a time when justice and equality is winning battles across many lands while injustice and discrimination fight back with all their might. Do not think for a moment our work is done here, there are still many battles to be fought before the day when prejudice and discrimination are no more. While we must certainly celebrate our victories along the way, more importantly we must take the lessons learned along the way and apply them in the battles being fought in other locations. Slowly, city by city, state by state, step by step we will succeed because we did not give up, we did not take no for an answer, we refused to accept second class citizenry. We fought the good fight and will continue to do so until that final victory is ours. We have taken one more step along the path to equality, let's continue on the journey, shall we?

Once again the video aisle is brimming with entertainment today. The line up today starts with GLAAD 101 where staffers explain their mission and why they participate, then we follow that with Davey Wavey and Will answering viewer questions. Up after that Luke talks with Holden about honesty in a short, unexpected appearance in yesterday's episode. Following Luke and Holden we have another inspiring speech from Barack Obama in Grand Rapids with John Edwards. Finally we have part two of the Great Classical Composers series. Then of course we have the eye candy section with today's selections. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
