It 's The Weekend, Finally!!

As you can tell from my post yesterday, my busy week caught up to me yesterday big time. I had meant to post something more than I did yesterday but fatigue ambushed me after the stressful night at work on Thursday. As you know, Thursday was the last day of January and as such there is additional reports and procedures that are required as part of the night audit at the hotel. The only problem I had was with the electricity. The power went out to the front desk which of course killed the computer, printer and key code machine. This presented a real problem at 1:30 in the morning as without the computer and printer, no night audit and without the key code machine, I could not rent a room to anyone. the power problem was only a breaker popping off but the breaker box is inside the manager's office to which I have no key. The maintenance man has a key but he was off sight as was the manager. I contacted the maintenance guy but he told me to call the manager. I just love runarounds. The manager was off site visiting his paramour and would not pick up his cell phone. I called the assistant who told me the manager would only answer if I called from the fax line so he would recognize the call as from the front desk by caller ID. The only problem there was the fax machine was on the same breaker as the rest of the front desk and was not operational. I pulled the phone line from the fax and inserted it into a stand alone phone so I could call the manager.

About this time a guest came in to rent a room, so I had to do some creative electronica so I could provide him a key. I ended up running an extension cord across the lobby to the power strip at the lobby computer station which still had power, thus averting the potential problem there, however those machines are not hooked into the hotel software. With that problem solved for the time being, I still had to contact the manager so that power could be restored to the front desk and the end of month procedures could be accomplished. When he finally did answer the phone he said he would return in a half hour. Two hours passed before he returned and I was starting to get antsy as EOM processing takes a lot longer than the normal night audit. Fortunately the manager returned in the nick of time, restored the power and I was finally able to start the EOM processing with plenty of time to get it finished before the end of the shift. Unfortunately the stress of the situation ate up the remaining energy I had. You saw the result of that when I fell asleep at my keyboard tying to post something for you guys which did not happen until late on Friday afternoon.

After posting what I did, I spent the rest of the day sleeping off and on at my desk as I was trying to catch up on the email and moving company business for the EOM requirements there. I am still behind the curve there but I will eventually catch up. I did want to get this post done and then finally I will be able to go to bed and rest up a little bit.

Today's post features a question and answer session with Davey Wavey over at wickydkewl followed by Thursday, Friday and Monday episodes of Holly Oaks from da33431.

I am officially exhausted now so I will leave you to your eye candy and catch you on Super Bowl Sunday. I really hope the Patriots beat the Giants ( who knocked the Cowboys out of the playoffs) andt the 72 Dolphins can finally break open that bottle of champagne so we will no longer have to put up with that dramedy, may they rest in peace. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
