Many Thoughts After Many Trials

I cannot believe it took me until now to get this far with this post. I is 1PM Central time and I think it is a giant conspiracy between Microsoft and Google to make things ever so much more difficult to accomplish than is really necessary out of jealousy and spite that they are not Steve Jobs and did not invent the Mac. Between the two Internet giants they have conspired to give me many trials this AM while trying to accomplish the simple task of posting to my blog. Ah, now that my rant is over, on to more pleasant thoughts. I have been working on this post since I got off work at 6 AM. I was fairly upbeat as I had been able to spend some time during my shift teaching an aspiring blogger how to create a blog on Blogger and assisting her in its creation. I watched as she poured her thoughts into her first post which is as yet unfinished. I don't know how many lesbians I have in my audience but there are probably those of you out there that do have lesbian friends. If you would check out the new blog or turn your friends on to it here. The link to her blog works but she has not yet posted her first piece, I guess she is still working on it, something about the perfectionist in her personality I suppose. Anyway, I was checking my email last night while helping Flip and I had received an email from the photographer Biron who had written to say how much he liked my MLK post and he graciously sent me a photo from his collection to share with you all here so I have posted it just below as well as a link to his website.

It is gratifying to me to have my little corner of the world noticed by the larger than life luminaries of this world. Blogging has put me in touch with more famous people than I ever thought I would come in contact with as well as those among us that are not as well known to the general public. The really great thing about it all is how easily we can communicate and connect on some level. We are after all just people no matter our station in life. I have met some of the most amazingly kind and generous people through this little blog of mine. In fact I am having lunch tomorrow with the Lunch Lady, it will be our first F2F although we have talked several times on the phone and chatted on Messenger. It will also be an opportunity to perv on some of the good looking studs in the making at the high school where she works, looking only no touching the under age guys. It is always interesting to see and talk to the young ones coming up, they are exposed to so much more than when I was their age (back when dinosaurs walked the earth). The next generation is much more open to reality than many in my generation which gives me hope that one day we will achieve the dreams I posted about yesterday. No news events like this one also give rise to that hope as we once again prove our detractors wrong without spitefulness.

One of the ways we help the younger generation is by teaching them our history as the education system in our country has not yet seen fit to include GLBT history in mainstream courses. Like the old saying "those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it". I do not want it to be said I did not do my part to pass on our history to the next generation. Which leads me to this website hosted by the Providence Journal profiling the Gay Evolution in Rhode Island. The website has many interactive features and slide shows which makes it a treasure trove to a history buff such as myself.

As long as we are talking history, did you watch the CNN Democratic Debate last nigh? It is of course history in the making as we observe those who wish to change the course on which our country has been led by the idiot in the White House. Hilary and Obama really went at each other and Edwards managed to score some points too. I still do not know who I will be supporting but I do know who I won't be supporting as the Republicans have no sanely viable candidate. Is it just me or are they getting more wacko by the minute?

I have rambled on enough for today so I will leave you with today's selections in the eye candy section. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
