I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the new readers here at Nichevo. I have been ambling along at about 250 readers a day and yesterday I had 708 people stop by, a new record! It is my hope that you found something you liked here and will return again and again. You can subscribe to Nichevo through Feed Blitz in the side bar and I encourage you to comment on my posts so I can tell if I am meeting your needs and/or expectations and what I can do to improve your Nichevo experience. Once again, Welcome to Nichevo!
I like to think that you guys out there come for the insightful commentary available here on Nichevo, but methinks you come for the eye candy. However, I will continue to offer my POV on the world at large and my world in particular. As I stated in an earlier post, Auntie Holiday, Uncle Gerry's alter ego, has a tough time of it at this time of year. I used to get all excited and decorate everything in sight, spend tons of money I did not have , etc, etc, etc.... deep down I would still like to do those things as I am at heart a hopelessly sentimental and romantic person. Ryan over at Boys Are Ugly But So Cute left a really sweet comment on the Auntie Holiday post reminding me that my Gay family would step in and love me even if my biological family can see their way clear to do the same. Thank you Ryan and Mikey for extending your love to me. Then Kendall over at The Way I See It posted that awesome video set to the Carol of the Bells that I brought to you yesterday and I was reminded that there are still those who believe in the Spirit of Christmas. Well Auntie Holiday is trying not to let the Ebeneezer in her come out too strongly this year. We will just have to wait and see how well that works out.
I guess it would help if I made a wish list of what I really want for Christmas, though I don't know who would be able to bring me the items on it, but here goes anyway. The item I want most is a HP 5610 Printer/Fax/Copier/Scanner. I have a lot of images that I could use if only I could scan them into my computer, and I know how you guys love my images. It would complete my system and give my home office some much needed functionality. Another thing I would like is Michael Breyette's 2007 calendar, I introduced him to you in the other post I did today and you can link to his site from there. As long as I am wishing for things, I would like to have some money in the bank. As you guys know from earlier posts I started Nichevo while I was unemployed. I have recently done some work for a new/old employer as a contractor, but recovery is a slow process and rent time is coming up again, so a little cash would not hurt things a bit. I would really like a job where I could work from home and not have to commute anyplace as I don't have a vehicle. If you have ever been to Texas, it is sometimes very difficult to get around without a vehicle. Pictured below is my dream car(I would choose Sonic Blue instead of yellow), I am not holding my breath until I find it under my tree (which I don't have anyway)!
While I am wishing for impossible things, I would add Gay Marriage, total equality, and a husband/partner. I am realistic enough to know that we don't always get what we want, "but if you try sometimes, you get what you need", and believe me I would settle for that. For now that is really all that I can think of for a wish list. I live a fairly simplistic lifestyle so I don't need a mansion on the beach, or a Lear jet, or a thousand other luxuries I could name. I just want to be comfortable in my apartment with enough money to support myself and be able to continue writing here and perhaps be recognized as someone whose writing touches hearts and minds causing thoughtful reflection, joy and laughter.
I thank you all, dear readers, for coming to visit time and again and for offering all your words of encouragement. I will continually strive to provide you the finest content at my disposal and will take to heart your constructive criticisms so that Nichevo will always be a place that you want to visit on a regular basis.
The Cowboys don't play tomorrow, but I want to see the Giant's lose so they can stay in first place by themselves. I was so pissed off when JJ spent all that money on Totally Obnoxious, I did not know if I could watch the "Boys this year. I have had blue and silver blood since 1960, so it is hard not to watch and I am finally getting excited about the season they are having. Who know, maybe we will win a play off game or two or more!
I will leave you now, dear readers, as Uncle and Auntie are tired and we must get our beauty rest so that we can watch all the NFL action tomorrow. So until next time, as always, Enjoy!
