Happy Hump Day and welcome to this edition of New Adventures in Good Music. Our featured Composer today is one of the last great representatives of Romanticism in Russian classical music, Sergei Rachmaninoff. I did not have time for a lot of research to develop a narrative for today, however, I did find some excellent source material available to you at Wikipedia and/or Rachmaninoff.org.
For our purposes here today, we will explore the progression Rachmaninoff makes from his Piano Concerto Number 1 and each successive Concerto though his 5th and final Piano Concerto. The Finale of our exploration is Rachmaninoff's last completed work, the 30 Variations on a theme of Paganini. To further illustrate his creative process, I have a treat over on my tumblr. There you will find Rachmaninoff's Piano Sonata Number1 and two versions of Piano Sonata Number 2. The original Composition of Sonata 2 from 1913 and his own revision from 1931.
As this is Hump Day also, I have a scorching selection of lanky and lithesome lads in their finest examples of modern swimwear. You will find them all in this edition of Wet Wednesday splashing about down below. Over on my tumblr, Your Hottie of the Day!, Matthew Williams is making quite the splash himself. Thanks for the visit, see you again on Friday as we prepare for the weekend. Until next time as always, Enjoy!
