Bonjour et bienvenue à votre Concert de Dimanche Matin (Good Morning and welcome to your Sunday Morning Concert)! As you may have surmised, we have a French theme going for today's concerts. Our featured artists for today's performances are Jordi Savall and his Les Concert des Nations Orchestra. First up, around this time of year the Festival Oude Musiek (Early Music Festival) is held in Utrecht, Netherlands. This year's festival begins on August 29 marking the Festival's 34th Anniversary. What has that got to do with our French theme? Read on dear friends:
Posted down below is the full HD recording of the closing concert of the 2010 Festival Oude Muziek 'La Suite Française' featuring Jordi Savall leading his Les Concert des Nations Orchestra. The play list includes 4 Suites by 3 French Composers: Jean-Baptiste Lully's Suite Alcest and Marin Morais' Suite Alcione followed by Suites Les Indes Galante and Les Boreades by John-Philippe Rameau. The concert closes with an encore by Handel and an audience participation rendition of the last dance from Les Boreades.
While over on my tumblr, our French theme continues, this time from the Royal Opera at Versailles with Jordi and Les Concert performing at the Twelfth Night Concert as the Orchestra of Louis XIII celebrating the music from the times of Louis XIII who championed the Royal Music Program and built the first castle at Versailles.
Now to top off the morning and add a brawny touch to our beautiful French baroque music to which you will be listening, take time to cruise down the page to find this week's collection of said brawny boys. You will find them all arrayed au natural in this edition of Nu ou Presque! (Naked or Nearly So!). Meanwhile over on my tumblr, your ‘Amant Pour la Nuit’, et Votre Bombasse de la Journée! ('Lover for the Night', is Your Hottie of the Day!). Thanks for sharing part of your Sunday with me, see you again tomorrow as we begin another exciting week of Music, Men & More! here at Nichevo. Coming up this week we celebrate Leonard Bernstein's 97th birthday, introduce you to a an exciting contemporary French Composer and look in on the Festival Oude Muziek again as it begins this coming weekend. Stay tuned! Until next time as always, Enjoy!
