Speedily On Through

Time and events certainly got the best of me yesterday, leaving precious little time for any online activities.  Seems like everything in my life right now is traveling Speedily On Through with out stopping.  Naturally, I am behind the news curve once again so I have no pithy commentary on current events or wry observations of a strange slice of life.  I do, however, have some really great music for you from British Composer and Conductor  Sir Edward Elgar.  Elgar, perhaps most famous for the 'Pomp and Circumstance' march heard at graduation ceremonies world wide, was actually a prolific composer who wrote a great deal of Music.

Sir Edward Elgar's Symphony No. 2 in E-flat major, Op. 63, was completed on 28 February 1911 and was premiered at the London Musical Festival at the Queen's Hall by the Queen's Hall Orchestra on 24 May 1911 with the composer conducting. The work, which Elgar called "the passionate pilgrimage of the soul",was his last completed symphony; the composition of his Third Symphony, begun in 1933, was cut short by his death in 1934.  Today's performance is by the London Symphony Orchestra.  Unfortunately the conductor is not listed in the video description.  The Photos in the video show Elgar as a conductor, but I do not know if he is at the podium for this performance by the LSO.

You may hear Sir Edward's Enigma Variations performed by Leonard Bernstein and the BBC Symphony Orchestra over on my tumblr where you will also find the Hottie of the Day!  Before you head over there though, drop on down to scope out the soaked sexiness in the Wet Wednesday post down below this one.  Thanks for the visit, see you again soon.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
