Saturday Evening Concert

Welcome to the Weekend as we conclude our Basic Beethoven Blitz with your Saturday Evening Concert.  Between these pages and those of my tumblr, we have bombarded you all week with a fraction of the Best of Beethoven,  Many of the performances have featured Daniel Barenboim as either a performer or  a conductor or both.  For some reason Beethoven and Barenboim seem to have an affinity for each other.  Beethoven had a story to tell with his music and Barenboim is extraordinarily gifted in his interpretations of Beethoven's finest works.  Tonight's featured performances are excellent examples of Barenboim's expertise at interpretation.  

Here at Nichevo, Daniel Barenboim conducts the West--Eastern Divan Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall on 23 July 2012 for the BBC Proms in their performance of Beethoven's Symphony Number 5 in C Minor, Opus 61.  Whule over on my tumblr you may join Barenboim as the Piano Soloist and the Royal Danish Orchestra in their interpretation of Beethoven's Piano Concerto Number 3 in C Minor, Opus 37 under the baton of Michael Schønwandt.
