It's been one Helluva week with lots of hours and different shifts. Boss man rehired an ex employee to help with the night shift. I trained him in the third shift duties, working with him until about 4 AM yesterday before heading home for some nap time. Then I had all the pay day chores and errands to do before returning for my regularly scheduled Thursday 5-11.
Today is the first day of the new schedule and my Fraturday and Sunday will remain the same as it has been 5-3, 3-8 and 5-8. Where it improves is on Tuesday I work 10-7 and Wednesday I work 11-7. This gives me both Monday and Thursday off. So not only do I get more hours, which equates to more money, but I get more time off to boot. I would call that a win-win, wouldn't you? The only drawback I can see is that Tuesday is also a truck night, so I get both truck nights. Boss man has scheduled me some help this week so I don't have to kill my self trying to get the truck up by myself. I guess that all the hub bub this week was worth it as it greatly improves the financial outlook for this year. And I am all for that.
Your Musical Moment for today features the Music from the Fountainhead of Russian Classical Music Mikhail Glinka. Glinka's compositions were an important influence on future Russian composers, notably the members of The Five, who took Glinka's lead and produced a distinctive Russian style of music. The play list today includes 14 short works for Piano by Glinka including Mazurkas, Valses and Variations, Your performance today is by Victor Ryabchikov, who has recorded virtually everything Glinka wrote for the Piano. Amazon lists 54 different CD's when you search for 'Glinka Ryabchikov'. You may also hear Glinka's Divertimento Brillante on themes from Bellini's Opera 'La Sonnambula' over on my tumblr.
