Looking Ahead

The news cycle continues to be stuck in the slow mode on this first Friday of the New Year.  However, things pick up next week when the world goes back to work after the holidays.  As the graphic below illustrates, the battle for Marriage Equality heats up rather quickly.

The stay on the ruling invalidating Florida's ban on Marriage Equality is set to expire on Monday.  The Federal Judge in the case clarified his ruling to include all clerks in all counties in Florida.  In 3 counties they say they may have to issue the licenses, but are foregoing the privilege of a courthouse wedding for anyone rather than have a ceremony for a same sex couple be held in 'their courthouse'.  No matter how 'prissy bitch' those three counties want to play, they still have to issue the licenses and there are far more romantic places to get married than the county courthouse anyway.

Then on Friday next, oral arguments will be heard at the 5th Circuit Court in cases from Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.  Also on Friday next in the nations capitol, SCOTUS will discuss which Marriage Equality cases from the 6th Circuit Court, if any it will take up in the current session.  Moving out to the Mid West there will be a hearing in the Federal Marriage Equality case in Nebraska on the 29th.  So it looks like we kick off the New Year taking the fight to our opponents rather than sitting back and waiting for them to scheme up some deviousness or another to demean and demoralize us.  All I can say is "let's keep the pedal to the metal!".  We could possibly win the Freedom to Marry Nationwide THIS year, therefore it is not a time for us to falter in all our efforts to achieve our goals.  So let's not do that, OK?  Ever Onward and Upward!

Your Musical Moment for Friday features the 21 Hungarian Dances penned by Johannes Brahms with a classic digital recording on vinyl by the Vienna Philharmonic under Claudio Abbado.  For another classic recording, check out Isaac Stern and Leonard Rose's dynamic performance of Brahm's Double Concerto for Violin and Cello in A Minor over on my tumblr.

Because we are featuring Hungarian Dances, why not have some handsome dance partners to choose from.  In addition, these 'dance partners' are certainly hot enough to provide plenty of Fantasy Fuel for whatever sparks your desire.  Over on my tumblr your Hottie of the Day! will add fuel to any fantasy fire when he asks "Going My Way?".  Thanks for sharing part of your Friday with me, have a Fabulous Weekend and stop by for the Evening Concert to hear which marvelous live performance I have on tap your your listening pleasure.  Until next time as always, Enjoy!
