Hello! and Welcome to the Weekend and your Saturday at the Symphony Evening Concert. It seems to be easier to put together these Saturday posts after I finish my shift rather than try to squeeze it in between Friday Night and Saturday afternoon. That being said, what is not to like about a pleasant Summer Saturday Evening listening to some of the world's greatest Music and perhaps scoping out a little Art in the Male Form while you're at it? So let's get this show on the road, shall we?
The past thirty days have been pretty stressful for me. When I need to take a break and chillax, I usually turn to some of my favorite Music to aid in the process. Thus it is tonight with the need to chillax that I present one of my favorite symphonies by an avowed master at the genre performed by one of the world's legendary orchestras. Tonight's selection is the Symphony Number 9 in D Minor "Chorale" by Ludwig von Beethoven. Tonight's performance is a recording of a 1970 Concert at the Koncerthaus in Vienna by the Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of the inimitable Leonard Bernstein. The Philharmonic is joined by by the Vienna State Opera Chorus with soloists Martti Talvela, Plácido Domingo, Shirley Verrett and Gwyneth Jones. Getting ready to put tonight's post together, I tuned up with another performance by the Vienna Philharmonic of Beethoven's 5th Symphony, another of my all time favorites which you may hear over on my tumblr.
While you are immersed in the listening experience that is the Vienna Philharmonic at its finest, take a slow scroll down the page to take in today's gallery of fine Art in the Male form. This being the weekend, of course the natural beauty of each portrait subject is portrayed sans much in the way of adornment as they are all Naked or Nearly So. An additional Window View that is enchanting in its own right will be found in the Hottie of the Day! over on my tumblr. Thanks for sharing a part of your weekend with me, see you again on Monday for another week of Music, Men & More! Until next time as always, Enjoy!
