Saturday at the Symphony

Welcome to the Weekend and your Saturday at the Symphony.  Today we feature the Music of Austro-German Composer Gustav Mahler.  Today's performance is a great presentation of the legendary conductor Leonard Bernstein with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Edinburgh Festival Chorus, Sheila Armstrong (soprano) and Janet Baker (mezzo-soprano) playing Mahler's Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection" at the Edinburgh Festival in 1974.  You may also hear Mahler's Symphony Number 5  in C Sharp Minor with a 1997 performance by Daniel Barenboim conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra over on my tumblr.
